you can put a duct silencer at the end of the exhaust....you can extend that little piece of ducting to an actual oulet besides right back into your tent area that would help too....You can use insulated ducting...you can put sound damping material on walls, rugs on floors.....You can throw blankets and towls over that fan or build a small box around it....lots of things you can do.....

Build a simple box around the fan then take the filling from a pillow and stuff it in the box with the fan. If you aren't bothered about the way it looks then just throw a few blankets over like footclan mentioned, it works a treat.

i say get yourself a speed controller for the fan.. i have an active air fan that i couldn't even use cuz it was soo damn loud so i went the speed controller route, and now i can hardly even hear it going at slightly below full speed.. good stuff...

i put mine in a plastic tote with styrofoam inside BUT i found that the most noise comes from the air blowing out the end! so i took it out of the tote and simply wrapped a blanket arounf the duct and its WAY quieter! but i have a vortex exhaust!

It looks like it is metal on metal on top of your cab. I would say pad up in between the two with some weatherstrip foam you can find at any hardware store. Then build a box around it. I have old towels and egg create around mine. Alson adding some more duct work to the end will quiet it down some.

Ok guys this is what ima do..... Picking up a speed controler, gonna make a box around it with some egg foam, run my ducting into a pillowcase full of blankets n shyt untill i get my DIY filter made. And the pic is from when i first built the box so i've got the ducting ran into the corner of the room inbetween my Entertainment Center and my computer desk

someone gave me this idea, i haven't tried it but it sounds super easy and deadly effective!

put the fan in a carton box like the one it was supplied in, make holes and squeeze the fan inside newspaper. like, wrinkled (*dunno the proper english word for when you like smash the paper in your hand). That's it, your silencer should be ready. I'd bet a 100$ that this will be very effective.
