How can I preserve genetics with ONE grow room???????

I USED to have a flower room with HPS, a veg room with a 8 bar T5, and a place for my mother under a 400w MH.

NOW i have 1 fucken 2x2ft tent....with a 135w LED from Light House.

I need help with how im supposed to make this work..


1. Do i veg for 2weeks, then pull a clone, and flip her to 12/12 then just keep cloning the clone every time she is big enough until i crop the ONE plant thats in the tent!?! I cant have a plant vegn for 2mo waiting for a spot in the ONE tent i have now because we all know a 2mo old plant in veg is HUGE, i could have a 4in-8in clone hanging out with 1or2 CFL until there was room. IS IT HARMFUL TO CLONE A CLONE EVERY 2 WEEKS, AND DISCARD THE MOTHER AS TO KEEP THE PLANT VERRY SMALL AND OUT OF THE WAY????


2. grow from seed every time..... FUCK THAT!!, I have awesome genetics and love to clone.


3. I WILL not grow lowryders .PERIOD.

Like I said I could have a clone hanging out but i would have to re-clone her every two weeks and discard the original plant (i guess the mother) to keep the plant verry small until THE ONE spot opens up. So i would in theory be re-cloning a clone 4 times while its clone-counterpart is flowering for 2mo.


IS THERE A NIFTY WAY TO PULL A CLONE OFF A PLANT EVERY 2WEEKS AND PUT IT IN THE 12/12 TENT RIGHT AWAY, LIKE A PERPETUAL sog??????

I am trying to do the same. I bought a $15 wire kitchen rack at Wallie World. Convered three sides, top and bottom with reflectix and have mylar (emerg blanket) over the "open" side. Toward the end of veg, I cut a clone. My plan is to veg and light lst her right in that small cab under a couple 42W 6500 CFLs. My plan is to pull clones off of her a week or two before I harvest so that shorly thereafter I can veg those clones and then have a mother. Here's a pic (the solo cup is the clone-to-be-mother. the other is a basil palnt that I have been using since last summer - caprese salad is not a seasonal item for me).

If the mom looks good, when I cut the clones, I wil likely put them into another one of these cabinets I made. So hopefully I can pull frmom her again. In that cab, I am currently doing a 12-12 from seed LED test with. Ain't this pic cool?

Dude thank you for not leaving me hanging here! BTW thats a great idea, i need to just make a make-shift veg box, 1/4 the size of my 12/12 tent. Thats the rule of thumb according to Jorge Cervantes: veg room should be 1/4 the size of the flower room to maximize efficiency.

im wondering if i just keep light to a minimum if i can keep a mother plant going for 2mo with out turning into a monster...never tried

again thank you, looks like were in the same boat :weed: Micro/ LED/ and being Dads?...

If you take a picture of the mother, it will last forever.

I agree with the 1/4 rule of thumb. I think most people have too big of a veg setup. If the mother is growing too fast, take cuttings!

Infact, with a 2x2 flowering tent, you may as well use the cuttings for new mothers while always flowering the mothers, which would basically be beasts....

you can easily make a veg room, get 12 23 watt cfls for under 20 then plug to socket adapters and a y splitter, plug em in to a extension cord theres your light, then a cardboard box,rubbermaid etc lined in foil..super cheap and easy. you can get 300 sqft of black plastic sheeting for 7 bucks to make a dark room, i just hung it in a circle on my ceiling. for 2 dollars 10ft roll of magnetic strip tape to make door and seal...thats my easy perpetual setup with my 600 hps running constantly over 2 seperate flower rooms... whats your question i forgot what i was doing

Harvest all but one branch.

Photoperiod plants will herm and produce beans, sacrificing one bud to preserve it. Yea, you start from seed, but you can keep everything on 12/12

Just take a clone before you flip to 12/12. Make sure you train your clone. Top the thing after the 2nd node. You can keep them small/manageable if you stay on top of them.

That is possibly one of the BEST ideas i have heard!!!!! See this place is sick!!!!

I could use the two T5 2footers (jumpstarts) i got today and do a verry controlled T5 scrog to put in the tent after the 7weeks (my strain is 7weeks). Maybe daisy chain another in later if more light is needed but i could do a 3200k T5 to mix the spectrum a bit before flowering.

Pull some clones off it before i put her in 12/12 and repeat, i like it

This is a very intresting idea... I love it because of its simplicity and because i do love to grow from seed as its more symmetrical by way of its branching...

My one question is do photo-period plant ALWAYS seed like that after harvesting all but one good centralized nug, letting it grow longer to herm? And if so, will the seeds it produces be more likely to herm on there own, i hear they do? Also would each and every seed be the exact same genetics, i dont see why not?

This way would also make FEMed seeds hugh?

Interesting!!!! Im keeping this one as a possibility.

I don't remember the name of the technique, but I read about it on RIU. If I find the link I'll PM it to you, or post it here. I believe I was researching how beans are feminized, and between links and youtube, I learned a bit that I mostly forgot now.

And no, no guarantees that the beans will form. But when it does, you will have plenty of beans for awhile.

I knew a old hippy guy (meet him through craigs list, i was selling a 1000w set up) who tought me about 'regeneration', a technique where you leave the bottom of your harvested plant to go back into a 18/6 cycle and let it veg again, then flower again, and so on. I believe the reason behind it was that more nutes could be up-taken because the stem at the base of the plant was already huge and there was a vast root system all ready established.

Well i see some have given you some options and didnt see this one. To control growth on MOM after you get your clones off her trim back her root mass and replant. That should help to slow growth while the clones are off and flowering just keep mom with a few small cfl lamps on an 18/6 veg schedule in a box or a space of her own and dont forget to feed her but not alot you want to not starve but slow her veg growth. not sure if that would be a viable option for you but hopefully someone will have a solution for you.
