how can i improve my setup on a budget?

Right now my one 2 month old clone of AK-47 only gets about 5-6 hours of direct sunlight per day. My backyard is small and the only one around that gets no sunlight at all because of 2 oak trees... I am using the only thing I have which are miracle grow flower fertilizers to grow it. Is this frowned upon or will it harm the plant? So far it is about 1 foot 6 inches tall but I have not seen the amount of foliage on clones I see in clubs. The top two inches are growing better and i can see more leaves but it still looks a little bare even though it is healthy. I am thinking I need more sun but where the sun could hit it my neighbors and the street could see. What do I do since I barely have money for an indoor system? Any general help on my situation is appreciated. Thank you fellow enthusiasts.

you are going to need to get some money together to get some lights. That, or put them outside in the sun. You can't drive a Camero on a bicycle budget.

There are a bunch of budget cfl closet grows on riu, so check them out. You aren't the first broke person to grow weed. Just be sure to use gonzo odor eliminator bag from home depot, that shit works great for small grows.

Or you could check out guerilla (spelling?) Growing. That looks to be great fun, having a 5 gallon bucket of weed hiding in a tree!

It's not uncommon to wrap netting around outdoor container gardens to keep wildlife from eating them. I had that perfect excuse this year, some animals ate half my sunflowers and my neighbor actually suggested it. Keeps people from seeing your plants and you can train them low so they don't get 6' tall and obvious.

its not as much as the wildlife problem, more the "i live in shady apartments" problem. i cant have anything suspicious at all but the only sun is out in the open on my front second story balcony/

Dude all you need is some type of box/cabinet.. cardboard,rubbermaid.... Cover the inside with flat white paint or buy a emergency blanket, wire some sockets or take apart a old lamp, that what I did. Get a few bulb splitters, and some cfl(if you have a price copper around go there 1$ for a 42w cfl). you can even set up a few cfl and put one of thos sun windshield blockers up around it
