How can I grow in an appartments?

I plan on moving to a appartment soon and I was wondering a few things like if landlords check appartments randomly or if they do can they search through closets and shit? I have a grow tent that would fit in a closed closet and do fine I'm just worried if they do random searches since they technically own the place and they check on the place making sure I'm not fucking up their shit and they look in the closet and think oh wats in this tent? And open it up and get hit with the smell of 6 plants in their face and call the cops and I loose everything over a few harmless plants(it's not legal in maryland) so are there any appartment growers who live in a non legal state?

I wouldn't even try it,my partner lives in apartment,and we walked in on a guy fixing the air conditioner,so it would be too risky seeing that most land lords enter whenver the fuck they want.

Thats the exact situation I wanna avoid... What about half houses? Iv never looked too much into those but there's some nice ones around here...

It doesn't matter what you rent....you are a rentor and the landlord has a lot of rights....sending in pest control or inspecting his property. Personally I wouldn't do it...I know that's not an answer you are looking for.

That said you may have to look at a number of properties that would appear to be safer than others to meet your needs. Ask potential neighbors how often the landlord checks on things...a legit question. Look for a place on the top floor for less of a hassle venting...except you don't know what's up there....shared attic or just yours.

Just start asking yourself questions as to what you really want in a place in order to optomize your living space and your habit.
Well you caught me on a roxicodone/hash night...my verbage runneth over. Just be careful, learn a lot, and have some fun.

I wouldn't do it, but if you must there are many stealthy options, like PC case and end table grow boxes.

I got away doing it for 8 months..I stopped going to the apartment tho only on a weekly basis and i missed the 24H notice that they put up which was to check rented units for appliances like Air conditioners, dishwasher etc...which led to me getting booked :wall:.......in canada they have to give you 24H notice, which is more then enough time to temporarily pack up, so if you actully live there shouldnt be a problem and i wasnt even stealth, I had a big ass 4x4 tent in the middle of the bedroom lol and a big ass 1000w light too...I just got too lazy going everyday to check, o well learned from my mistakes atleast and didnt even get charged, they only got 2 plants cuz I had like 20 seeds coming in

One thing to keep in mind... and most people don't know this.

Many apartments get mandatory pest control services paid for by the landlord. The landlord gives the pest control service man a master key and they spray along the floors.
If you work the usual mon-fri 9-5 you might not even know as they come mon-fri 9-5. They are supposed to inform you of the visit... but the last apartment i lived in, they did not inform me. i've never apartment grown. i wouldn't recommend it.

I did it in 2 apt in Cali, but plan on buying a house when I go back out there lol would not recommend an apt ESP not in a non friendly state :(

Thanks for all the answers... I'm looking for a new place as we speak cuz that appartments wasn't smoker or pet friendly so fuck that shit... If I can't take my dog and need to go outside to smoke in the freezing cold theres no need to move to such a location.

I grow in my apartment and I have my locks changed on my front door. The only way someone can get into my apartment is if I let them in. If I'm not home, sorry, you're not entering my apartment. The reason why I did it is because the dumb ass maintenance people tried walking in while my fiancee was in the shower. They didn't even wait for someone to come to the door they just barged on in. If I get in trouble for it, that will be my excuse. I will tell them I can change the locks back, but if someone walks in unannounced, they will be shot.

Also, I grow in my bedroom and there is no reason for anyone to be in my bedroom except for me and my fiancee. When the bug people come they spray the baseboards in the kitchen and the bathroom. I also have a hole cut into the wall that leads to my return air for venting hot air. I also have cameras set up in my apartment, so if someone does manage to get into my apartment they will be on tape and I'll have a lawsuit.

I'm not telling anyone to change their locks, as that would be against the contract of an apartment unless you give them a key. All I am saying is that there are ways around them knowing anything that you are doing. Like growing in your bedroom. They have no reason to be in your bedroom unless you live on a top floor and they need to access the attic space within your closet.

I also have a 24 hour notice before someone is to come.

I got away with it for 2 years. Got caught by the maintenance guy but he was cool about it and told me to throw everything out. I did that and started over in the next 2 months. Luckily i finished my next grow promptly before the next yearly inspection. I saved 6 thousand and moved the fuck out of that place to the country and never looked back.

Generally speaking, apt. management usually 'requires' the tenant to provide a key to the unit. However, they would not (should not) actually know if the tenant changes the lock and does not provide a new key, but that would be at tenant's own risk.
Mgmt. supposedly only uses the key in case of 'emergency', plus it's nice if the tenant is a clutz and somehow manages to get locked out.

Regarding whether or not landlord or maintenance person will come into your apartment, it really depends on your landlord. When I signed my lease my landlord told me that he will never come to my apartment without notifying me 12 hours in advance. Same with maintenance. Only exception is if there's some sort of emergency, like the building is on fire or something.

But in my opinion, growing in a place you rent isn't worth it.

depending on where you live they can come into your apartment, and if youre growing illegaly most likely they will call the police. I wouldnt do it

only problem with that is , the landlord may turn up at your place and get really sketched out and pissed off that the locks to his place have been changed and could just end up kicking the door in .
in the uk the landlord cant just enter your place without agreed notice .

The "Apartments" I live in have more than just a single landlord that can enter your apartment. But they have to give notice before they have to do anything inside your apartment. They can't just randomly walk by and kick in the door. That is trespassing and they can have a major lawsuit on their hands trying that. If they notice that I have a different lock on my door, which they already know, they have to give me written notice to either give them a key or change the lock back. They know that I have a different lock on my door, but they wont do anything about it because I am good resident and I have never given them any issues. I always pay my rent on time, there are never any complaints about me and I have lived here for over 4 years. They could evict me, but they still have to give me 30 days notice. So either way, I don't care. :lol:

You're an exception, the smell alone combined with 95% of Apt. buildings having forced air heating makes it virtually impossible to go undetected.
