I growing in a forest opening where a bunch of pine trees fell from a storm. The area is prolly between 50-75'x50-75' and has trees about 50-60 feet tall around it. I know plants need 8 hours of direct sunlight a day but I cant be there for 8 hours to check so could you guys tell me in your experiences is this a big enough clearing?

Nah , they dont need that much light, but it will make it bigger an stronger.
Ive grown in cornfields an bushes with 3-4 hrs of direct sunlight a day an they did good.

There is a trade off , secruity or sunlight. I choose security cause if i cant hide em i prolly wont get to keep em.

Below in my utube journal, Check out my camo/ rodent cages i use to hide mine, We got no forests here just weeds.

Your spot will work, but it sounds kinda big to me? But as long as they are hidden i should be ok.
