How big of a factor is the room humidity?

I have the same conditions & I also have a humidifier, but I'm afraid to use is it for fear of destroying my HID bulb.

i think there's a way to use a bucket of water and a rag to raise the RH without mist which would kill your HID.

i'll post back here if i figure it out.
