How big does my growroom need to be for 6plants?

I want to make a grow room soon that can get me the biggest yields possible. the room i have to work with is 12ftx3-4ftx10ft. Now i know I dont need to use all this room for 6 plants so what would be the ideal growroom size to maximize each of the 6 plants?

ps- which system would work best for me as well in this situation?

4x4 is fine and thats what my cab is....I use a 400w HPS/MH and it works just fine in there, but a 600w would be perfect for that area. Heat is DEFINATELY a consideration though.

i think i have a very similar room to yours but im not good with numbers mines 5 feet wide pretty long and 8 feet tall.
im sectioning mine so i have a 2x4 veg try with a home built drip system. and the back will be te flowering room with a 3x3 tray.
you can see it in my signature but the rooms not finished yet

Don't know about the most yield part of that statement bong, but I agree with soil causing fewer headaches. Other then the actual harvesting and the once a week spray for pests I don't spend more then 15 minutes a day taking care of my soil grow (9 plants currently, 12-14 normally), and i don't need to worry about power failures or a bad pump wiping out my crop in under an hour. I don't need to worry about water PH all the time, I have a lot more leeway when it comes to nutrient issues, and I don't have the extra expense for pumps, air/water tubes, PPM testers, etc.

How large a space you need is really influenced on just how big you plan to grow your plants, and how bushy they are. I started out using a 10' T, 3' W, 12" L closet for 6 plants set 2 wide and 3 long, but ended up deciding to move them out into the open room and save the closet for a veg space once they started getting close to 2ft tall. They height wasn't the problem-the width was. I had leaves pushing up against the walls and doors of the closet on most of the plants by the 18' mark, and since I've moved them out into a wider area they've gotten even bushier. They should end up being between 5-6' tall at harvest, and I'm guessing the things will be somewhere between 2-3' wide based on the way they are growing.

Considering the El Nino season and how a lot of people lost power due to harsh storms, I would worry more if I had a hydro grow if I lived anywhere where there is a long white winter. :leaf:

If its your first time grab a bunch of bag seed some fox farm oceans forest and get to reading on this site! I recommend soil to all rookies like myself to much to worry about in hydro. As for a light depends on your cooling situation all hps will give you heat issues the size of the issue coincides with the size of the light. But your going to want to try and use cfls or t-5 for your seedlings and veg anyways. Hps is an overkill in that dept i think

Hey, so I have a similar question as the first guy. I've constructed a 6' tall 6' long 3' wide grow cabinet (see attached), and am planning on growing 6 plants. I'll be doing roughly 4-5 week veg cycles, and I'll be using 6 5-gallon buckets using the dwc method (again, see attached). The light I want to use is a high output t5 fixture, which uses 8 54-watt bulbs. Basically, I'm wondering if I will have enough light/space for 6 plants?

you're hijacking someone else's thread but since its your first post - you have enough space but not enough light.

you want at least 6,000 lumens per square ft which equals 1,800 total watts of fluorescent and you only have 400 total watts.

you would be a bit cramped. I don't know enough about t5's to comment. I was looking at the 54w tubes. all I could find where 5000k

Apologies, beginner's mistake. Thank you very much for the advice though.
