how big before flipping??

So is there an optimum height I should be going for before I flip???? My flower room is approx. 8 ft.

They're going under 600 with, in 1m x1m, approx 8ft high. I was thinking that within thinnest week I'd transplant 4-6 of them to 10litre pits and put them flowering.what ya think?? Or anything else I should be doing??
There are plenty if vairables to consider. Optimum height is not based purely on available headroom. By the sound of it you need to take a step back, forget all about optimum anything, be it size or yield, and just get through to harvest.

Just make sure once you transplant you give your plant a couple of weeks to fill her new home as once you turn to flower the roots will not grow much i would recommend transplanting putting them under the 600 for 2 weeks then flip or longer if you want more weed and if you have the room

Right...didn't know that...

Right, didn't know that.... So that extends flowering ( I know it's technically not flowering, but it'll have to be in my flower room if it's in the big pots) by two weeks...I was planning on a four plant perpetual grow, so when this is happening I'll be vegging for around 12 weeks...if I just put straight onto 10 litre pots and into flower, it'd have a big effect on yield??

Yeah, I suppose. Just trying to learn as much as I can so I can maximise yields going forward...but yeah, just getting them done without overcomplicating things is good advice...gracias

If this is your 1st grow I cannot stress just how much larger they will get from the switch until harvest. Easily double...maybe three times as big.

Cool, thanks. They're probably 1.5 foot now, and my flower room is probably around 8 foot, so I might try to get another bit of growth. They probabLyness reporting though...and I haven't the space under the veg light, and flower room not ready yet..

Yeah like Hot Diggity is saying if your still new you need to just focus on keeping them healthy to the finish line and not stress about yield so far your plants look nice and healthy

Dose your flowering room already have plants in flower ... if not just run the 600 18/6

also if your not going to veg for longer once transplant its kinda a waste of soil... and water and all that good stuff

once you put them girls under the 600 they are going to explode with growth if they have only been under T5

also canna nutrients are great thats what i use just rememeber once you put them under the 600 watts just keep it high for a couple of days and lower it every 2 days but make sure you do the hand test hand above plant if its to hot for your hand its to hot for your plant you burn them and you will stunt them and they will need time to recover!

also if your running canna nutrients just remeber to get a good flush in every 1 - 2 weeks as the salt build up is a pain in the ass

Cheers. Excellent advice. Flower room isn't finished yet, so no plants there. Hopefully in the next week. So I'll throw them under it for 18/6 for a week or two before I go 12/12.

Also thanks for letting me know about starting the 600 high and dropping it,.didn't know that. I have a PowerPoint reflector with the glass in it, so should be able to get it nice and close...

Thanks again for the tips, very helpful...

Trust me when I say this that it is much better, easier and smarter in your first grow or first grow with a certain strain to flower them while they are still small. If you let them get too big then they triple in size and you have to bend/break your branches and colas you will regret vegging for the extra few weeks. I would transplant asap and let them go another week just to let the roots acclimate then flower asap.

Depends on how much vertical space you have in your flower room. When I veg my indicas for 32-36 days they are around 18-24 inches tall. While at 12/12 I can pretty much figure they will double in height while flowering. I know I have just enough room in the flower room to accommodate a 24-incher that grows into a 48-incher. Much over 48 inches and they are running into the light.

So, work backwards and let your set-up tell you tell you when to flower. Measure the distance from your flower bulb to the top of the pots. Figure you need to stay around 12 inches from the bulb. Take your measurement, subtract 12 inches, and slice that number in half. That will give you a pretty good ballpark height at which to veg your gals.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Small Perpetual grow indoors, I can help you out there been doing it for the last 10 years :)

when to flower, very good question and has to be done at the right time

Its best to base it on the size and hight of the flower room and how many plants you have

you want the plants to fill a 1/4 of the flower room when you put them and for them to be at least 8" tall.

With perpetual grow you need to top remove some fan leaves and work hard to keep the plant small in veg

Any less you have a mother plant
(waste of electria space and time imo) but makes thing easier

taking clones a week in 12/12 works well

talkes about 2 weeks to root and then you veg for 5-6 weeks depending on the strain In the flower room

keep plants in smaller pots stunts the growth and help a lot

if you want to reduce the strech in flower repot and flower, don't let the roots any time to fill out

also this gives you more crops per year

Thanks for the great advice. You may be my new best friend!! Perpetual for 10 years!!

My plants are currently 14/16 inches. My room is 7.5 foot, minus 1 foot pots, 1 foot lights, so reckon I should be just about alright...???!!

You're saying to repot and flower straight away?? Would that not effect yield?? I've been advised to repot and give them a week or two to fill out...

You plants in veg 14-16 " high
If you repot them for a week before flower, these 8 plants will double or more in size and could triple in height

Flowering the plants as you repot them will stunt the growth a little, they will still grow and strech just not as muck :)

Yeild is about getting the right strain and filling the hole flower room
