how are my plants doing.

1 purple haze and 2 ak47.
In 3 gal pots..
1/2 promix 1/2 seasoil medium..
Planted 23 days ago, they are sitting around 5-6 inches high...

Yea I burnt them young shit.

I was told that I should start flowering them at 12"...
im over 3 weeks in and they are 5"... should they be taller by now?
I want to get them at least 12".. but im worried about getting rootbound if I veg for longer than 3 weeks in them 3 gal pots... should I transplant again?

I would be proud of them... I vegg all mine in 3 gallon pots and never get root bound, but keep an eye on them... dont forget to transplant before flowering

you can always top it off with soil every now and then when you noticed watering holes...

ive been given advice that sometimes leaving the roots slightly exposed could strengthen the plants integrity...

I can tell they were over nute a bit but if your in a 3 gallon pot I wouldn't worry about them getting root bound especially if you wanna flower at 12 inches you'll be fine. Hell, if you flower at 12 inch you shouldn't even have to repot them.

Ohh yeah? That would be sweet if I could stay in a 3 gal..
I have 5'11" headroom.. im using led my light will sit a little over a foot above canopy..
This is my first grow so im uncertain about how much strech happens durring flowering. .
Maybe I can get away with a little longer veg period..

Nice recovery from a nute burn. Looks real good now.

Should be OK in a 3 gallon pot if flowered at 12 inch tall, any taller 4 gallons work great and are smaller than 5 gallon. 5 gallon would be over kill Imo with the ceiling height around 6'

6-12" distance from top of plant to the light
And a plant flowered at 12" will grow to end up at 24-36" average depending on strain. So that's a total of 60" out of 71" tall grow space. The extra 11" is good for air flow and making adjustments.
