There are wildly divergent opinions here and elsewhere on whether flushing is needed at all. This year I plan on feeding up until when it looks like I have one week or so to go, then one last water only (no nutes), then let the plants get droopy before harvest time. I'm sure you'll get several other opinions when you read through the forums here so use your best judgment.

Thanks for the advice. I'm obviously a first timer and there's sooo many different opinions out there. Just trying to figure it all out and help some folks.

I usually will flush as close to 2 weeks out as I can then I just use plain water after that flush one more time on the last watering before actual harvest ......after the last flush/watering il let the soil dry out really really good then commence with the harvest.........and with my plants in pots I like to move them into complete darkness a day before I cut them This has always worked awesome for me .......good luck

Don't flush leave your plants alone if they look good. No need to do so all you are doing is removing food that can be used all the way till you pick. Why would you want to take away food from your plant in the most critical time of its life. Flushing is only good for when you have to much food that the plant cant take it up any more salt build up nutrient lock out. You will no when this is a problem the plant will tell you.

As a first time grower I was going to buy into the flushing until I read the thread "Harvesting and Trichromes" or something like that in the harvesting and curing subform written by k0jin. It is a sticky at the top. Good read you should really read the first few pages of his info.

Short story of it is that there is no point in flushing at all. Nutes are not stored in buds and why deprive your plant of what it needs when it needs it most. I believe him. Flushing is only for fixing over nutrition / salt build up or to correct PH imbalance.

NAILED it. The harsh taste in your bud depends on how you dry and cure.

Lol only way I knew that was from k0jin's write up. I was in there a few days ago just looking for info on when to harvest and the topic of flushing was brought up so I kept reading. So much advice in the stickys that I think I have read them all now.

Then how do you know..? try it and decide for yourself, but first chew on some kitchen foil for about 5 minutes to give your mouth the required charge..
good luck with your idea
