i get that every time i get a hair cut... which now makes me think i should stop going to the same gay hair stylist... but in all seriousness, many good cosmetologists (had an ex who was one) do that to relax the patient and it usually increases tips.

My brother (who is in the army) told me about a haircut place right outside of where hes stationed. I think he said 40$ for a haircut with a happy ending. I wish i could find one of those around here.
