Wispy, sorry for the misspelling. It looks like a little white hair growing out of a green round thing. I totally understand, my first time I obsessed about this shit too. I suggest you either buy a good grow book (I personally use Jorge Cervantes Grow Bible) or read the shit out of these forums. If you hang around here enough you will know more about growing in a few hours than is probably good for your own good because you are so excited about successful results. The worst part of early growing is that your are probably doing it because you are tired of buying/finding grass, but doing it yourself takes patience. If you think being dry for a few days/weeks sucks, it take at least 3 months to grow from seed unless you are doing Lowrider at two months. Some take longer and probably your first will be longer because the more you make mistakes, it slows things down and degrades quality. I am no expert and not an ol' farmer. Actually, I am just a beginner who has read a lot.

lol thats cool man i actualy ordered that same book on monday im glad i got the right one!

You know when you have bud and it has red hairs on it? Well, those white hairs eventually turn red (or purple, orange, etc) and a bud is basically a bunch of those balls with hairs growing on top of each other. Actually what you are seeing is the flower. So try and save some for mother's day. Boys don't have the white hairs. And their flowers look totally different and are actually much prettier to look at so strike the above, save the males for mother's day.
