Hot pink ph level?

I disinfected my plastic container and plastic pots with 3% hydrogen peroxide from Walmart pharmacy. I did not dilute the 3% hydrogen peroxide. I rinsed the plastic container and pots with simple tap water. I put distilled water in the plastic container and tested ph and got a 7.0. I added 1/4 teaspoon of ph down and then tested for ph level and the water turned a hot pink. Why does it do that and how can I remove whatever is causing the water to turn pink?

Any helpful info would be great!

Buy a ph pen. Seriously, not being a wise ass. The lithmus paper is useless, it'll drive you crazy chasing ph and never giving you a reading that's accurate enough to matter. Rule 1 in growing, patience. Rule 2, buy a good ph pen. EVERYTHING you do other than chasing bugs,.....is based on ph. Not having one is like driving without a steering wheel IMHO. Again, not busting your balls, just trying to stress the importance.

Actually, I tested the ph level with a liquid product, but the pen does sound like a good idea. But I still have the problem with the hydrogen peroxide that I thought I had removed from the container. Anyone else with any ideas?

Be sure to calibrate that thing often. I calibrate it every time I use it. Most times than not, it is off. That's the cheap part of that tester.
