Chapter 8: Day 76 of 12/12 (Part 4)

Lemon Lotus - I have two of these and they are, by FAR, the monsters in the garden. I've never seen plants grow quite like these. The were incredibly strong as seedlings and into veg. Amazing as they entered flower. And then things just got strange. They started fox-tailing like crazy. But as that was happening, they were turning into the most massive plants I've ever seen indoors. Until recently, the trichome development was extremely poor. But the last week or so they are starting to improve in that category. They are starting to fade to a purplish hue. I don't think they will end up wowing anyone in appearance, and the smell is TBD but damn are they massive!

Chapter 8: Day 79 of 12/12 (Part 1)
Holy shit guys - day 79. Could not have imagined in a million years that this grow would still be going after 79 days. I'm taking a break after this round which is why I'm not on any kind of schedule and thank goodness - I never could have predicted these to go this long.

I've only chopped 6 plants so far and, of those, only 2 of them looked finished....Herer Hashplant #1 and #2.
The other 4 were chopped early:
Humboldt Chem - Fell over.
Sensi #11 - Hermied really bad and I killed her
Sensi #11 - Hermie issues again
Sensi #11 - Fell over.

There are 2 plants I'm considering taking tomorrow but I'm leaning towards waiting just a bit longer. Most of the pictures tonight (but not all) are bodhi crosses that I made. Every image is well named so it's easy to see what it is. 18 pics total so 2 posts tonight. Enjoy :)

Chapter 8: Day 80 of 12/12 (Part 1)

Amherst Sour Diesel is coming down tomorrow morning right at lights on. I did a minor pre-trim on her right before lights out. I've become an advocate of whole plant hang drying and dry trimming (sort of)... More on that later.

14 1/2" tall.

Note to self: Turn of the 3000K's before shooting. It looks like they were shot under HPS almost!

whole plant hanging + dry trimming = tedious & not for the impatient, but produces the best smelling & tasting flowers imho.

Chapter 8: Day 81 of 12/12

5 plants staged for harvest right before lights come on in the morning.

Super Silver Hashplant x Cobra Lips #1
Came from SSH Pheno #2. Did not cola up like most of the others and was a bit more cobra influenced.

Super Silver Hashplant x Cobra Lips #2
Did NOT come from SSH Pheno #2. Came from either #1 or #3 which looked identical to one another so I did not distinguish when I organized seeds. Leaves darkened up nicely. Nice density. Nice trichomes. A bit of an outlier.

Super Silver Hashplant x Cobra Lips #3
Came from SSH Pheno #2. Very similar to #1 but just better. Cola, density, trichomes and overall appearance - just a step up from #1.
Cola development no where near where the others are.

Chem #3
Was the outlier of the bunch. Pretty nice overall. Had to lean up on another plant for support during the last 2 weeks or so.
This is the only Chem that ended up maturing. 2 others were harvested early because they couldn't stand up any more. And the last one I have is doing great but looks like she needs another month to finish. Sorry...83/84 days is all I can give her.

Herer Hashplant #3
This one was the slowest to get flowering but ended up doing pretty well and structure was not bad.

I'll be chopping another 5 (at least) each day from here on out.

5 more plants staged for harvest right before lights come on in the morning.

Super Silver Hashplant x Cobra Lips #4
This is one of the first ones I'm showing that did very well. There are plenty more coming!
Came from either pheno #1 or #3, not #2. First sample that developed really nice flower structure.
She's obviously sativa leaning - pretty good trich development.

This last pic just shows how clean and nice the bottoms are. I have no interest in larf. By trimming the lowest 2 nodes during pre-flower, we eliminate that.

Chapter 8: Day 82 of 12/12 (Part 2)

Lemon Lotus #1
I was amazed at how all of the Lemon Lotus' grew during veg and into pre-flower. I planted 5 and had 3 males, 2 females. All 5 of them were pretty insane. I got really excited the 1st month of flower. Then I got a bit bumed the 2nd month but these last few weeks I've gotten excited again.
Is their trich development sub-par? Yes
Do they foxtail like a son of a bitch? Yes

So why did I get excited again?

1) I had to chop a side branch because it would have snapped if I didn't. When I cut it, I couldn't believe how heavy it was. Incredibly dense.

2) Trichomes - while it is no where near something like Herer Hashplant or White OG, there was a really great surge at the end and ended up being very respectable.

3) Smell - They smell very unique. I can't quite put my finger on it yet. Sure, a bit of lemon but that's not really it.

4) Appearance - This is probably the most important of the four points. Do you think she has amazing bag appeal? I don't either. However, she is very different from the usual stuff we all see. I've personally never seen flowers quite like these.

Herer Hashplant #4
This is the worst of the four. Flower structure is poor. Her fan leaves turned purple 3 weeks ago and she really hasn't changed at all since then.
I almost threw her away at one point but since I had the space, decided not to. I'm not even sure if it's worth my time to send her out for review. The other 3 are far superior.

Strawberry Goji
I planted 5 of these and got 4 males, 1 female. As luck would have it, the 4 males were incredible and this lone female was the runt. I was so impressed with how they looked during veg that once they sexed, I bought more seeds. I never do that. I will be revisiting this one.
She smells amazing. She looks - just average, if not below average. To me, she kind of looks like a plant that has been flushed. See how all of the tiny leaves sticking out from the meaty part of the flowers are all yellow? I hate that and I don't want that. I guess I did have a bit of a difficult time with her with feeding. Sometimes she looked hungry and other times overfed. I would need to work with her again in larger numbers to get it dialed in. But whatever - lets see some pics!

These flowers are super dense and heavy. They are not coated in resin. They have an amazing smell...very appealing and unique.

Lemon Lotus #2
This was the taller and more compact of the two, but ended up not being the best...at least from a visual standpoint.
She has most of the same traits as #1 but is less dense, did not develop purple hues and has less trichome development.
Still a beast of plant! Once dry, I've been wondering if these foxtail portions can simply be lined up into a joint!
