Honey AND cloning powder?

So cloning powder is just indole 3 butyric acid which is the rooting hormone. Then we have honey which has been shown to work as a cloning gel (also an antibiotic)

Does anyone mix honey AND cloning gel/powder? Or even aloe, honey, and cloning solution?

I'm jus curious what someone's experience was if they had....

I always have honey at home... but I decided to buy some rooting hormone for $3 from Walmart for the hell of it

never heard of honey being used, interesting thought. I have always used clonex.

I wouldn't do it. Follow the Walmart rooting powder directions to a T.

Why do you say that? My train of thought was that honey and rooting hormone probably wouldn't react. The directions just say wet and dip.

I might do a side by side and compare success rates between the 3... just for the hell of it..

Do the side by side. Honey is definitely antibacterial and I see no reason it would interfere with the action of the routing hormone.

How are you rooting them? That would make a bigger difference, I would think.

Probably will in like a few weeks when they're big enough to take a lot of cuttings at once..

I have a bubble cloner, thinking of doing soil tho cuz I feel like that's the most difficult.. at least for me

If you're testing your ability to root clones, use soil. If you're testing whether honey and rooting powder works together, I'd suggest a more consistent media, like rockwool.

Yea I use a bubble cloner and get near 100% every time before planting it in soil so its king of a moot point. I clone directly in FF Light warrior and its like 60% clone. I hate having to deal with rockwool.. so ill probably do soil.

Ill test honey, honey + rooting hormone, and honey + aloe + rooting hormone
