Homemade sugar/yeast c02

Hi all

I have read lots and lots about people making there own bush league c02 generator with yeast/super/baking soda for small grows/tents/closet etc..... question is how big have people gone with them and will bigger generate more c02? Example of a 2L bottle vs a 5gal bucket? Dose the ambient temperature play any role and has anyone thrown an air stone in the mix to keep things moving?

Thanks!!

No
Do not add a airstone. Will deminish/kill fermentation.
Yes
Ambient temps WILL make a difference.
The lower the temps the slower the ferment.
Trying to regulate the amount of co2 in a diy co2 is fickle too.
One cannot STOP the fermentation dureing lites off or the flow of the co2 once started.... hence wasting lots of co2
Yes- there is a difference between a 2 liter and five gallon
The 2 liter will Peter our way faster.
But with the 5. Gallon one can add back yeast a couple of times to keep it going.
You will need to pick up hi alcohol tolerant yeast ( no baker yeast) from brewer store.
Then pic up a co2 desktop monitor ( about $80) to track the amounts in the air.
But my question to you is
Does your small space really need co2???
Is it sealed tight??
Are the temps hi80s??
My suggestion would be to insure every other grow factor is maxed out and dialed in before even thinking about co2.
While co2 is great, 95% of the farmers really don’t need it.
But
One good thing is you can mix the used co2 liquid ( ie alcohol) add some powdered koolaid to it, let it sit for a week and drink the hooch!!!
