Homemade Stealth Cabinet Grow Raising BF's LSD and Violator Kush

Long time lurker attempting to piece together my first official indoor stealth grow. I have grown indoors one other time with a larger cabinet and no fruition of the flowering phase. My vegging plants outgrew their space and welcome. I had to get rid of the plants due to moving. I only had bag seeds and very limited information (before I connected with the internet for information). Previous to the last two years of investigative work, my knowledge has first and foremost come from High Times (Big Ups to the Original), tons of books, and word of mouth info. Besides the one partial indoor grow, I have grown outdoors five different seasons utilizing tomato farming tactics and backwoods cannabis cultivation information from acquaintances. The last year had me smoking for almost two years, so here I am trying to get back to self-sufficient ways.

I have learned a lot and love knowledge. With knowledge comes power. I apprecaite any advice or perspective on growing more efficiently and with greater results. However, I hate dirty, rotten booty holes who need a good cleansing treatment. If you have a chip on your shoulder or love to decimate people with rudeness, I'd rather not know you in any capacity. Lurking, I have unfortuantely found hate and love within this site. Imagine hate from pot smokers; it is hard for me at least. Kindness is what transplants seedlings and moves me as a human.
In conclusion to my introductory rant, good humans I introduce myself, my mission to grow, and my desire for growing wisdom. One Love.

Here we grow...

Grow Log: Barney's Farm LSD and Violator Kush

Tuesday, December 22, 2009
I used two transparent, glass bowls with a five inch top diameter and three inch bottom diameter. I rinsed the previously dishwasher washed two bowls with warm water and paper towel dried the bowls. After rinsing the bowls, I filled a third of each bowl with slightly warm/comfortably warm tap water. I allowed the bowls of water to cool to room temperature (approximately 71 degrees) before depositing the seeds into the water. I covered half the bowls with plastic wrap to help keep any foreign debris from entering the containers. Each bowl is labeled with the appropriate seed's strain. I am using two different feminized strains from Barney's Farm: Violator Kush and LSD. Only one seed per strain is being soaked. I am placing the seeds on top of my entertainment center to appeal to a warmer level of the home. The seeds were deposited into the tap water to soak at 12:20 p.m.

Soon, I will post pictures of my cabinet and its exact dimensions. I am using bubble buckets, hydroton, Ready Grow Super Plugs, Dutch Master nutrients, either 2 - 3 100watt 5500k CFLs or a 400watt MH (I'll decide this by the end of the day; Home Depot visit) for vegging, and a 400 HPS for bloom. As I enter into the use of each item, I will post the exacts, but for now, this will wet the appetites of the curious and critiquing peeps.

I have put the plugs in a zip-lock bag with a tablespoon of water. The plugs felt slightly dry for my taste, so I zapped them with water in a zip-lock. Additionally, I put the bag in front of a fireplace for heating ( about ten feet from the source of heat; not that warm). I'll swap the sides of the bag at twenty minute increments. At 12:30 am, I will set the soaked seeds in the warmed plugs in half cup Tupperware containers within a lidded Glad Tupperware 3.07 liter container (works as my humid dome; I'll call it the Poot-Dome). I have several slightly-larger-than-pen-sized holes evenly space on each lower side of the 3.07 liter Tupperware container. I also have several slightly-larger-than-pen-sized holes in the very center of the lid to employ good, controlled circulation while maintaining humidity and heat for development of the roots and fruition of the germination/seedling process. Hot air rises, so this bakes the cake. I am applying a visibly moist level of saturation with Olivia's cloning solution mixed according to the directions on the container (3/4 cup to a gallon). The seeds will sit under a 100 watt, 5500k CFL (lifted approximately 1 1/2 inches above the Tupperware) until moving under a 400 watt MH. The light will be kept on for 24 hours, because I need ease in this respect. My schedule is all catawampus but agreeable with large slots of time off at quarterly intervals. After bursting from the seed and show leaves, I will remove the lid of the 3.07 liter Tupperware container and lower the CFL until I see root development. Until I get their, I do not entirely know what I will do with spraying nutes. Maybe, I will keep spraying with Olivia.

By the way, I got my seeds from Attitude. The total process paid for by debit card and sent to my home address took less than three weeks. I felt good initially and then, totally freaked. Living in the bible belt isn't no joke. Attitude met my expectations. I ordered stealth with a code and got three free seeds. I ordered three strains based on my copious research for my growing dynamics. I used my HYHE process (pronounced High) selection: Height, Yield, High, and Ease of cultivation. After much research and deliberating, I chose Barney's Farm Blue Cheese, LSD, and Violator Kush. I received free Dinafem Power Kush and Roadrunner and DNA Lemon Skunk. I wanted to try Roadrunner first but hesitated due to abnormal cultivation blooming times (I want a perpetual growth). The reviews for the other two aren't so great that I would waste three to four months of growing to test my education with sub-par strains. This is why I started with LSD and Violator Kush. Never-the-less, Attitude will get my next order; I also want to do the t-shirt thing again and with confidence.

Small notes: all containers all adequately bleached, cleaned, rinsed, and dried. Additionally, when measuring, I aim for the specified amounts (according to the research all conservative and liberal approaches to nutes are working) of nutes and such.

Pics of all this coming with the popping of the seed.

Day is Done.

I am completely flabbergasted...you have given me a compliment unparalleled by any other given to me in the past few months. You are so astute with very little evidence given. that I want you to paly the lottery for me I now proclaim you not only a genius, but more importantly, you are my friend. Is it too soon to tell you that "I love you."? Awww, who cares what others may think; I love you friend. Additionally, my imagination sometimes is not up to par; what kind of cake did I get. I am not the biggest fan of sugary delectables, but for you friend, I love cake if that is what you are giving. Carrot cake might be my favorite though or some type of apple cake with hearty apple chunks coated in carmalized brown sugar and sprinkled with cinnamon. Weird is beautiful to me. My entire life has been pledged to fulfilling my soul's destiny and not applying to any other human's plan. I am weird [sic: different], and hopefully, you are too. Looking at your avatar (Is it Dali?), I get the feeling you appreciate weirdness deep in your soul; am I right friend? However, please though do not make assumptions about what I can and cannot appreciate, unless it is hate that you assume I cannot accept, because you would be right again (you genius you.). If you have anything of value for me firend, I will accept it with open arms and a warm heart.

Again, to conclude the persoanl interlude from my grow journal. I love you friend, and if our paths do not cross again, I will miss you. Thank you for your keen observation into my life's work. A Swirley Bird Revival is for everyone, not just me.

Not much happening today, except anxiety; all you growers know the feeling. Here is my daily post though...

Wednesday, December 23
This morning, the VK showed its roots with the tap root pointing up, so I carefully turned the seed upside down with the use of tweezers. I have sprayed the plugs twice today; both times the plugs seemed to lack visible moisture; they weren't dry.

Small note: the reason I put my plugs in front of the fireplace to warm their toes is due to storing my plugs in the refrigerator. I didn't want to shock the seeds with cold, moist plugs.

I noticed lightening in the ribbing of the LSD. I can only guess that it is because of its germination. The Tupperware container is seeming to work well. The seed in the VK is closer to the surface of the plug , so I believe. I sprayed them once more and will check them before bedding (later than 12:50; I had to smoke and re-fill my whiskey). See you when the sun rises...

The seeds are feminized.

@ 9:00 -ish p.m.
I pulled the Tupperware top away and added small plastic bags to increase the humidity. This also allowed the light to be placed closer to the seeds.

Friday, December 25
The seed leaves have emerged from the VK, and I can see little true leaves peeking. I removed the plastic bag from the VK. It seems as though I am spraying the plugs three to four times a day with literally one squeeze of the sprays trigger.

Saturday, December 26
The plants are being sprayed three to four times a day (one squeeze of the trigger). The VK seedling is at full salute with the first true leaves moving through their first steps (as in baby steps). The LSD is about to break the surface of the plug with popping out of the seed and moving to true leaves.

Note: I like the plugs; they allow me topically view the fruition of the seed's germination.

Here are some pictures like promised. With one seed popping, my camera lens became jealous and wanted to pop too. As the seedlings mature into larger plants, naturally more pictures will come.

The inside dimensions of my cabinet are as follows,
The bloom side is 5 ft. in height with 26.5 inch by 26.5 inch floor plan. The veg side is 16 inches by 26.5 inches. Two four inch duct fans constantly pull and push fresh air throughout the cabinet. There is a homemade carbon filter for the final export of the cabinet's inside air. I will also have some odor killing gel to aid in the smell. This will be place on the outside of the box to not interfere with the buds' smell. I'll try to remember a closed door picture for the next set of pictures. One crucial aspect of this cabinet's build (which drastically contrasted my first cabinet's build) is ease of moving. As a stealth cabinet, my contraption needs to be Mobile, with a capital M. My cabinet fits through a regular size door frame (barely) and is light enough for me and my wife to move (we tried). I never know when I may need to move the little but large cabinet.

...minutes later...I have to figure out how to post images...pictures coming soon!

I need help with attaching pictures...

Saturday, December 26

10:38 p.m.
The L.S.D. seed has broken the surface but has yet to break the seeds confinements. The V.K.'s first leaves have enlarged greatly.

Sunday, December 27

After not tending to the plugs for ten hours, I needed to spray the VK (the container was dry, but the plug was more than moist), and the LSD had one definitively formed true leaf and one definitively smaller leaf for two true leaves. I removed the plastic bag from the LSD also. Both plants sit unbarren under a 100 watt 5500k cfl with about threeinches of space.

Help! Anyone, I need to upload pictures successfully. After uploading, the site says I am missing a security code or something... I have e-mailed them with no response. Is anyone out there (insert Pink Floyd)...help..

..so no one responded with any information to help me, but I know you all wanted to...mayber it was the holiday season that kept you from wanting to spend extraneous, family dedicated time to help my efforts. All I can say is free James Brown!! Additionally, you can't keep the cream from rising to the top.

Anyway, at my last, openly stated attempt at downloading attachments, I found decreasing the pictures that you are trying to download at one time increases the chances of a download...sorry techies...I live in the technological swag world with regards to information and experience. Alas, I know how to attach pics, and more are certainly sure to come.

The follwoing pics are from the time when I wanted to originally post pics...I also included my grow associate who besides my wife, is the only other soul that knows about my grow. He is a good conversationalist. Do not confuse him with his cousin Greedo, because Weedo always shares! He'll be along for the ride

Tonight I will take pictures of the latest events with the grow. I am transferring my sprouts into bubble buckets and under a 400 watt MH which may or may not barbeque my plants; we'll see.

However, this is my latest entry into the grow journal...

Monday, December 28
The VK has several roots sticking out of the sides of the plug.

Tuesday, December 29
The LSD has a root sticking out of the bottom of the plug.

Okay, I am still wrestling the wife over the camera (we just had a niece, so she is hogging the camera). However, here is the latest...

Thursday, December 31
The VK's second set of true leaves are getting larger. The LSD's first true leaves are still small and growing more slowly than the VK's did. I transplanted the both plugs into the bubble buckets and under a 400 watt MH set for 18/6.

After New Year's day, I'll try to post pics.

The smaller plant is the LSD and the larger one Violator Kush. I am not using nutrients yet. Tonight I will begin per the nute's directions.
