Homemade Pyrethrum Anyone???

I'm wondering if anyone has had luck with homemade pyrethrum sprays? I recently had a thrip problem that I (hopefully) solved with neem oil - usually used for mites. So, I've been doing some reading, and it turns out that these cute little pyrethrum flowers in my yard pack a pretty potent punch if made into a spray. It's a pretty toxic organic pesticide. Supposed to eradicate the thrips. Although, I find the description of how it works a bit horrifying:

The total release fogger is $20.20 shipped and we need them so rarely likely most people are like me and just buy a few foggers. I agree with you that it is horrifying but at the same time I find myself wanting to see the video lol

pyrethrum is on the banned pesticide lists in California, Oregon and Colorado. ODA pulled pyrerthrum products in Jan. and some today after they tested them at sc labs.

Well, that's def a negativa!!! One of the first articles I read was from Mother Earth News!!! I'm going to keep researching before doing anything. Oy! I hope I'm not walking into some long term debate......

I wonder how it might work as a companion plant indoors. I've got it growing everywhere in my yard. - seems to like growing around my tomato plants most.

Ive thought of this before...never done it or seen it done. Go for it..
