Ok this is not a DIY just a project I will be trying because I have the extra money to through at it. Please all post all advise good or bad.

I will be making a 4.5ft W 6ft H 2ft deep "tent" using PVC piping and a tarp for the outside cover and a reflective matieral for the inside. I will have 2 ports for a inline and exhaust ducting(keeping the fans in the addict).

Does anyone think that the pvc or tarp will emit a chemical or something of that sort with the lighting??

Im going to add some pictures in acouple of hours any comments or advise is welcome. Thanks

Can't wait to see the finished product, I was thinking about trying to build one myself
I'll be taking a trip to home depot soon. The hardest part I have figured out so far will be to get the tarp to stick on the pvc piping I am thinking maybe some type of adhesive and some zip ties but ill figure that out when I get to the store. The wife always loves to sit in home depot for hours lol:hump:.

Ok well here are some pictures it came out pretty good I think if I had a bigger tarp it would be alot neater because I had to use 2 tarps I had laying around but zip ties and pvc piping worked awsome. I used 3/4in pvc but I would say use 1in pvc atleast. Basicly its a frame with a tarp zip tied around the outsides than duck taped any pockets of light shining threw. I have some milar so I plan to put that up later and that will help with light. I also didnt add the ducting opening yet cuz I don't have the fans yet but ill add that when I get them. Basicly im just going to cut 5 3/4in holes in the tarp and push the ducting through than duct tape around the ducting so light can't get in or out.

Everything costed me about $75 and about 2 hours of work and pack of cigs lol. So I made my own custom sized grow tent by using things you can get at any local hardware store near you. Cost was alittle more than I wanted to spend but my next tent ill try to bugdet. It didn't come out that "pretty" and neat looking but it works great keeps the light in and other light out.

Im going to build acouple more to get everything down packed and after that ill add a DIY if anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

Sorry just noticed acouple of the pictures are sideways don't know how to fix that :-? and yes I do know that in the first picture I have my plants just sitting there a million miles away from the lights its because I didn't put them in my aero system yet because I was cleaning it out and changing the water.

Wife and I made a PVC Frame and Tarp as the Cover, 8 foot long by 6 foot wide and 6 foot tall, Held the Tarp to frame via zip ties.
Inner material, first grow we used Mylar Thermal Blankets but they were a waste and made noise when fans hit them, this time we put in 8 drapes or Black out curtains with white inner lining on them so White walls inside tent and keeps any light leaks from getting in and out.
We use LED Lights and 2 Exhaust Fans removing heat and 3 intake ports we made 4 inch large with covers and black foam to keep light in and out but air passes through. We keep a strong negative pressure in the tent in order to cycle the air 2 times per minute and also a humidifier to keep the Humidity some what constant. Will update with photos and videos

My post actually wasn't related to the guy who's originally what it is is I was looking to see if there was other people who made PVC tent to compare our construction and it was kind of hard to come across honestly I found this thread and I thought you know what throw up what we put up and what we did maybe somebody might have some questions one day it was cheaper than buying the gorilla tent

Just get some gorrila glue adhesive and bond some velcro to the tarp.. you will have to kind of do a test run just to see where you will need to put the velcro exactly but yeah but the adhesive on the velcro and then the velcro to the tarp let that set for at least six to eight hours or maybe even overnight and then you will be able to Anchor the tarp to your PVC and you should have no issues with any types of chemicals or anything other than that if you wipe everything off with alcohol before you use it
