Homemade Banana Water

Hey guys just a quick question I made some banana water, soaking a few banana peels in water for a couple days to get all the potassium magnesium etc to water my plants. Now obviously as its homemade it has no guides measurements etc so I was just wondering A - how much/how often should I apply it to my 3 or so foot high flowering girl, and B its starting to smell pretty gross its been in the bottle a while, how long till I shouldn't put it on my plant? I apologise in advance if this is the wrong section for this, thanks for any responses :)

The answer is...Never!!! Yuk! You need to compost those bananas first. Making a putrid sludge out of bananas may be "organic" but it must also be consumed by microbes in order to become available to your plants root system. If it stinks bad it's already been dominated by anaerobic bacteria. You can make fermented plant extracts that will feed your plant but you also need an organic mix that is active with soil microbes and fungi first in order for it to do anything beneficial for your plants. Otherwise it's just a mess. You are probably much better off feeding solid rotting fruit to worms kept in a bin or putting them in a compost pile to break it down. Then you can topdress with it, add the compost to a tea, or add it to soil to recharge it. Check out the stickies in the organic section & search about fermented plant extracts....there's a whole lot to this actually; here's one thread to get you started;

ok no worries ill just stop being a stinge and go buy some fertilizer then
