yes you can make your own. no need to spend hundreds to get one.

it`s pretty simple, just remove the igniter or install a switch in the circuit. ( use the corredct switch ) now you can use a mh for veg and when it`s flower time take the igniter out and screw in your hps. i dont know if this works on digital ones but it would probably already be switchable. this is for your basic hps magnetic ballast.

thats what i thought thats why i posted that one. i geusse maybe some older ones didn`t not sure but theres the how to.

i have a switchable ballast and the switch is a single pole single throw and it looks like it breaks the ground on the ignitor the one pole is grounded to the case. my hps no longer gets bright is that most likely an ignitor problem?

this is cheeper. those bulbs cost me 70 to 90 bucks here and the mh/hps are only 30 bucks each for me. might not be the best option depending your prices were you are
