home depot = CHEAP replacement bulbs???

heyy everybody
i visited my local hydro store to check out 100 watt cfls, and see how much i need to upgrade to hps/cmh and the prices were OUTRAGOUS...... $45 for a damn cfl??
well i went to home depot next, they have 63 watt cfl for 14.99
and 100 watt replacement cfls for $15-$18
thts crazy how just cuz its from a hydro shop it costs 3 times as much lol
and i seen hps and cmh replacement bulbs for way way way cheap...$20-$30. and all iv heard about on RIU is 150,400,600,1000 watt lamps. these bulbs went from 20 watt to 150 watt. are there smaller/cheaper hps/cmh lamps??

the cfls at home depot are all u need. i keep saying it....2 packs of 27 watt daylight cfls are 3$. I currently just have regular mh bulbs from home depot but yes they make the hps and mh in l;ower wattages but most people just use the largest ones. besides cfl may be a lot more efficient than the small ones because 150 watts of cfls can provide much more coverage. with the cfls the efficiency kind of degrades with larger bulbs I think the the 68 watts is about as big as I would go especially since you can hook up so many in a small area.

The lights at your local hydro store may be a little better as far as light spectrum but the cheaper lights seem to do just fine. I will upgrade my mh bulbs for better spectrum and more lumens but otherwise DIY is the way to go with growing...you can build a hydro setup for 100$ or buy one for 1000$ your call.

pipe dream is right although i dont use cfl myself but have researched them all of my other stuff is homemade youll be surprised the things you can do using low-tech solutions do whatever works to get you started & upgrade as you go ive been on a budget for 3 grows now & recently upgraded & ''bud'' bankrolled it im not the sharpest so if i did it so can you

so here the lil setup i made for my clones with the bulbs n stuff i got last night. its 700 watt equiv, but really only like 140 watts.still got work to do on it. but damn... i thought the hydro stores would b cheaper... but with the smaller hps/cmh lamps would it be beneficial if i was using a small setup with one or 2 plants. i mean if i replaced 100 watts of cfls with 100 watts of hps it would be ALOT better for jus a small enclosed grow box right? by better i mean, quality/quantity of smokage at harvest

n by the way, im pretty knowlageable about growing =) these clones will b my 3rd harvest, im just somewhat poor and dont know a whole lot about all the different lights etc... but now tht i got perpetual harvests goin the $$$ is startn ta flow a lil bit for me and im looking to upgrade.

i've vegged with the 5500k 27w, and they work very nicely

yea thats wut iv been working with on my 2 other grows. i only got about 2 1/2 ounces off each plant tho. alot of tht had to do with me bein somewhat of a noob lol but im really jus tryn to get enough smoke each harvest to save me the $500-$700 i spend on bud every month.

35 days in my flower box, let her veg too long first grow, if i could stand her up she would be about six feet tall.

iv got my first LST experiment vegging right now, its truely amazing!!

id still stick with CFL's makes the cost per gram expenditures go way down and increases your bottom line on your start-up

Id like to introduce y'all to my experimental plant ... This is Girlz-Gone-Wild ... she is a topped, super-cropped, LST baby, grown exclusively under 300 watts CFL then just recently moved to her new room in her 50 gallon pot and is not 3 weeks into flower and just introduced to her new 500 watt home
she was grown exclusively on MG multi purpose for vegg then 1/2 strength MG multi and full strength African violet bloom food for the last 3 weeks



and the buds are coming on strong

im hoping to get something a bit like that with my first experimental plant, shes topped, and LST. i super cropped 4 or 5 tops that were growing vertically to fast. but she wus grown in black gold potting soil, with shultz plants food, and fox farm grow big. under 92 actuall watts, been vegging for 4 weeks. i have to spread her out a bit when i transplant to a bigger pot, she popped off alot more dominant side branches than i wus expecting. but good job on her norml! shes a beauty forrsure man

yea the real experiment on Girlz-Gone-Wild was when she popped a few of her dominant side branches i LST'd them also but before i did it i clipped the sucker leaves and fans back off the ends and then used rooting hormone on the tips and stuck them back in the dirt causeing her to grow multiple rooting sites .. so after the full vegg and now going on 4 weeks into bloom she now ...out of one single original stem .. has 2 other smaller *main* stems also...don't know it it did any good but i know she has almost 30-35 bud sites up top right now going hard... so the extra root uptake may have helped...time will tell ..

kiss-ass thats jus straight up savage... lol i bet the exta rooting site will benefit alot. n even if it doesnt atleast u can say u got the only plant like that lol iv never even thought about doing that... i may look into doing that

i have 300 watt cfls from lowes man and they cost 19 bucks apeice
