holy fucking seeds

so the other day a buddy of mine came over with a huge bag of seeds(I'm talking 10,000+)
its his and a few buddys stuff that they've been breading for yearrrrrrssss.
I have no clue how old they are but he said he's got a seed storage.

so my question is. How can I tell if these seeds are good?other than germination
they look fine and they don't crunch

isn't there a way with a cup of water. How does that work

Send me a few hundred and I'll test them out for you at absolutely NO charge. There's probably no way to know if they are still good, other than trying them out. They do not last forever tho; about 10 years is about tops except for rare cases. I'm not sure about the cup of water method to test viability.

and that's what I was thinkin so I just put a bout 50 in a wet paper towl. And about another 50 in a cup if water haha ill see what happens. He said his last grow was out of that bag and that was maybe 2-4month ago

I was just wondering if there's a way to tell by breaking them open.like I said in op there's 10,000+in there it aint ganna kill me to experiment. I just tryed breaking some open earlyer it looks like the little white what would be tap root is still nice and white.
. So far nothing has popped. But it'll probably be a couple days or so.
