equilibrium not seen that i did like the basic concept of the matrix but i compare the plugged in people in that movie to those connected to religion politics etc... and any other forced type of thinking that does not allow free thought without consequences.

as far as compounds we should not eat all the man made sweeteners are in that category with the exception of stevia extract. whats even worse is trans fats/hydrogenated oils. i could go on and on about those and other pharma drugs then i could talk about the cigarette companies and there lobbyists infuriating.

adding dangerous compounds to increase addiction beyond what nicotine is capable of itself. going to court in the past to say ciggs are not addictive. the tobacco lobbyists are some of the worst people around. i dont know why people dont get more angry about there business practices.

Yeah, tobacco lobbyists are evil. Their only prophet is profit.

Because ultimately we understand that it is a matter of freedom of choice. The tobacco companies did not hold a gun up to our heads and force us to smoke, start smoking, or even continue to smoke. Besides, with a government hell-bent on taxing everyone to death one needs to enjoy life's small luxuries. Especially since the politicians are likely to continue trying to tax smokers to death.

If I was so inclined I could quit, it is a choice. It does however take a good amount of will power to quit, and being one that enjoys socializing it is hard to actually escape the habit.

Obesity is much more dangerous to the health though, and the resultant problems are much more expensive to deal with, in addition to being similar to effects of smoking. Perhaps some one should determine if all those agro-giants are adding weird shit to their food that enhances how addictive it is. They certainly do seem to add a lot of weird shit. Monosodium Glutamate, Various Dyes, High Fructose Corn Syrup all with the permission of the government.

umm yeah the food industry is certainly guilty of similar things but they have to list the poisons they include after that its up to the consumer to educate themselves on what they should and should not ingest. they are making the tobacco companies do the same soon. they will have to disclose the ingredients they add that they only add to increase addiction even though nicotine is seriously addictive by itself. they have proven they cannot self regulate or control themselves or there greed and are doing criminal activity's to further profit at the expense of human beings such as yourself and my own family members. everyone who smokes knows tobacco is dangerous and does so willingly fair enough im not against tobacco. but not every smoker knows the cigg companies add dangerous chemicals to further there addictions without there knowledge and dont disclose these chemicals to the public. im against that its evil in nature. in the past the cigg companies have simply payed people off or made them 'go away' this is unacceptable and im not against government action particularly on this issue.
