hmm the wife got me an aerogarden for my bday

how long before i should see some action or start again? 3 days?

it really depends if you germinate your seeds first ( taking a moist to wet paper towel wrapping the seeds and sticking them inbetween 2 plates for warmth and darkness for 2-3 days making sure you keep the paper towel moist and warm ( keeping the plate under a grow lamp or on top of a warm appliance works if you dont want to buy a heat pad for your seedlings ) untill you see them crack and see the first signs of the tap root ( the little white growth comming out of the pointy end of the seed ) then plant them in the aerogarden and you should see sprouts in 2-3 days but it can take upwards of 2 weeks it really just depends. the nice thing about the aerogarden if you can usualy CAREFULLY check to see if the seed is still alive or if it has molded and died as opposed to dirt where is just wait and stare at the dirt untill you go crazy.

so what kinda medium is it...is it a sponge? foam? sorry if i come across as a dumbass i just wanna know if i can find something similar on my own without buying the grow kits for the AG

It is a spone inside this plastic case shaped like a upside down cone. Wait, they didnt come with yours when you bought it because mine did.

I just googled it. There is the AG and the AG Elite version. Maybe the elite version comes with the medium

yeah i got a starter kit. I was just wondering what type of material it was. I have the spacesaver 6 AG...if my frickin beans would germ id get this thing going...oh well i can grow basil and suff........

i havent measured how high the light goes because ive already got a fig 8 cord for it so it can go higher. Just like id like to be lol

the germanation period is only the beggining of the wait lol but no worries its all worth it in the end

lol yeah i got shortbus seeds they just need extra time I HOPE

they are selling these by the pallets full at my local hardware store. every housewife can now grow her own herbs and spices, right on the kitchen counter. pretty cool stuff.
