Hmm. I really need some pro help on fixing N problem.

Howdy everyone,

First time poster, long time lurker. I am posting because I (stupidly) thought I could have a satisfactory DWC grow using only FF Big Bloom and properly PHed water. I know, I know.. THIS is why i have an N problem right now. I am growing out of a modified bubble bucket to make it slightly simpler (no water level indicator). I acquired Tiger Bloom and Grow Big is on its way here but I wanted to ask some more experienced growers how I should go about feeding my plant the new nutes. I have the FF feeding schedule downloaded on my computer but I am not sure where I should start due to the delayed arrival of the nutes. As of now, my plant has 5 true nodes but has some severe yellowing and brow splotching on some lower leaves (due to N deficiency I am guessing). If pics are needed, they can be taken.

If that paragraph was somehow too long to read, heres the sparknotes: I messed up my feeding schedule badly using only FF Big Bloom. How do I recover from my noob mistake and allow my plant to thrive. (As of now the plant got fed 2 tsps of Tiger Bloom to get some N, and it is looking slightly better with new growth, but I am unsure what I should do once Grow Big arrivies)

I truly appreciate any suggestions/wise words as this is my first LEGIT grow with hopefully my first LEGIT yield.

THANKS

I've never used FF nutes, but, I'd like to suggest one tip that'd help you alot, especially until you gets the bugs worked outta your system....start foliar feeding, asap. If the plants are lacking nitrogen, yet not needing potassium, for example, the plant will only absorb the nitrogen, and quickly, I might add. I'd hit them every day if I were you, until they start looking better. :)

Sounds good. However, I am a little afraid of foliar feeding them with Tiger Bloom because I dont want to burn the poor plant. Should I just dilute it a bunch and mix with Big Bloom? Or should I wait until Grow Big (has more N in it than Tiger Bloom) arrives and just spray it with a diluted mix of that? Also, are there any times when foliar feeding should be ceased (aka beginning / end of flowering)? Any signs I should look for that the plant is receiving all the nutes it needs? Thanks for the quick response man, its appreciated.

Mainly, I use MG for foliar feeding, and it works great. Just about any fert will work, including your's. What are the NPK ratios of Tiger Bloom vs. Big Bloom? Are they drastically higher? Play it on the safe side, and mix either at around 200 PPM,(or 1/4 strength, if you don't have a meter) and you'll be fine. If they're already deficient, you are extra-safe. It's pretty tough to burn the leaves with foliar feeding, unless it's mixed super-potent,(full-strength+) or really acidic. You won't have to worry about fertburn,(because they won't absorb what they don't need) you have to worry about actually burning the leaves with the chemicals themselves. It's also a good idea to spray them with straight water, every so often, which'll wash off/help absorb excess nute buildups.

FF has a new schedule out, there are many more products available through them. I am using all by the schedule except sledgehammer flush, microbe brew and the kangaroots. Just waiting to get them but for now any mess ups can only be fixed by flushing and putting the correct nutes back in. Not sure about foliar feeding yet, listen the pros on that.

Thanks for the help, I like the new feeding schedule a lot more than the one I was looking at. I think I will just go with a 3(grow big)-2(big bloom)-1(tiger bloom) tsp/per gallon ratio once grow big arrives on my doorstep. Starting with a reservoir flush first of course. I may also start foliar feeding once I can acquire a suitable sprayer.

^Any old spray bottle will work. Just remember, the finer the mist, the better. Also, thorougly soak the undersides of the leaves, as well as the topside. Nutes absorb even better, through the bottoms.

Thanks again jawbrodt. I'm looking for one right now so I can spray them with a pHed nute solution of Grow Big once it arrives. Thanks for helping a noob become a little more knowledgeable !'

EDIT: Well the gallon of Grow Big just arrived so I'm going to go on as planned and flush along with giving the plant a mixture of the nutes. Hopefully this plant should turn around. Shes not looking TOO bad but now I hope shell start looking better. I'll post telling whats up along the lines of my plant. Again, thanks for helping a first time grower.
