The Scorpion Diablo comes in a 3" square box, about 6" deep. Lay it on it's back and pop the top off:

Amonst the swag was this great T-shirt:

The set up couldn't be simpler but I'd recommend a second person if you have one. There are four holes drilled in the light's housing, slip the provided carabeeners through the holes. The top end of those wires hook onto the provided locking rope.

On 1 power it's possible to take a picture of the light. I can see making a lot of good pictures with the Diablo.

All of the wiring and the driver, and the dimmer, all come well attached to the back of the lamp. No assembly required.

These are my 4 clones of Serious Happiness by Serious Seeds. I'm running two trials with this grow, to test defoliation and yield, and to compare my yield with the clones' parents with my current grow. I netted a measly 407 grams on my last grow, I have been noticing my yields going dow the past 3 or 4 grows, figure it's a dimming LED.

The differences between one grow and the current is mostly the light.

Questions for SD owners - what do you set your dimming switch to, and how high above the canopy are you keeping your light?

Thanks!

I've got a par meter somewhere in my attic storage, I'll dig it out and get an idea what the light is at different heights and around the tent.

I'm hanging the light 24" above the canopy and at 5 on the dimmer switch, low light to get the plants use to the increase.

I’m just playing man. I’m not buying one lol . I’m thinking that may be a dealer throw in but mine from HB didn’t have any swag. I was just happy the hanging kit came with them as I saw someone open one and no hanging equipment was in the box

Nice! Always funny when I get promo clothes from grow related stuff. I’ve got 3 breeder shirts and a hat that I just can’t really wear, tf I look like advertising to the world that I grow in a prohibition state for.

A couple of things that the SD has over the Black Dog are: the weight - the BD was 50 lbs and the SD was only 30 lbs. That much weight made it difficult to raise and lower the light; The hanging gear is safer and easier to raise and lower. The BD had hooks that could slide out of the housing and drop the light.

3 weeks into my flower stage one of the red diodes burnt/melted, no big deal but if one thing can go wrong so can more.

I sent Dyson an email on Friday and by Monday they sent me one back saying that they're sending me a new Scorpion Diablo today. I'm going to send them the faulty one as soon as I get the new light set up. Very considerate and trustful of them, letting me continue growing while waiting for the new lamp.

Cheers to HLG!

The new light came in 6 days, hella good service.

The box is banged up a bit, hopefully nothing damaged inside. I'll post some pics once I set the new light up tonight.
