If it was me and my limits was the $750 mark, I would just buy the refurbished 750 because of System PPF Efficacy 2.88 μmol/J vs 2.5 of FR and 2.79 from blackbird

That does look like a awesome light! Isn't it a lot of light for a 4x4? I really dont know. Refurbished makes me a little nervous too. I would consider it. I think the warranty is less too because it's a refurbish

Between the blackbird and the 700Rspec which one would you prefer?
Or buy the individual boards, heat sinks, and power supply from
HLG.com
and build a couple lights diy for half the cost.
That sounds really intimidating! Lol I'm so new to led already. I've been using 600watt hps forever. I'm trying to find a light that would give me comparable quality as my 600 hps do.

Good idea though. Just not sure i want mess with building one right now. May in the future.

I’ve purchased 6 650r’s and many other models and not one has had any issues besides one at arrival the ballast was unhinged and hlg asap reshipped me a new unit and a paid shipping to return the other one. You asked is that too much for 4x4? Hell nah just even dim it based on pheno selection)n and if anything running it 50-75% will keep the led’s to last longer. I know for me I run em at 24-36 inches from canopy and have a 650-700 watts every 4x4. i only run at 75-100% dim power in 3rd week-6/7th week week of bloom, besides that it’s def lower and that saves money and def plants love it

their costumer support is game changer and AAA support. yes ur getting less warrenty time but look at cost diff, it’s almost half off. Plus u can use a discount code and It makes it 25% off

This is helpful! Thank you.

I noticed they sell route package protection for $24.38. Was this something you purchased or think its worth it? Did you have to use it for your ballast situation?

they actually didn’t have that when I purchased those lights . If it was me I wouldn’t buy that option/protection , maybe email or call me and ask ? Cause honestly I’ve never seen or heard one person when buying even if shipping damaged their led’s hlg didn’t back or fix the issue. I’m sure they will be honest . Maybe read their returns/tos policy ? Many online selling websites have that “protection” but honestly when I read their returns they should still back it if it’s proven lost or damaged

HLG makes great lights. I personally would choose to go with the Viparspectra lights. Either the XS 1500 Pro X 4 or the XS 2500 Pro X 2.

I was running HLG's Veg Pro in my clone tent where it's often 80%+ humid. I noticed paint chips on my light and called HLG. They found out the environment and said I needed conformal coating. So they conformal coated a brand new 250, for me and sent it to me while paying shipping both ways and allowing me to continue using my old light until the new one arrived.

I am extremely happy with them.

I hear nothing but great things about there service and I got a chance to experience it today. I spoke to them today and decided to go with the 700Rspec fr. I also got a uva supplement light. After speaking to them I feel really good about the one I chose for how I'm going to use it. Really friendly people too.

I'm curious about the heat it puts out and i forgot to ask. My soon to be lung room is cold. 65 degrees and 50% humidity. I'm curious if I will need to warm it up a bit.

I normally run 600 watt hps. Those things get warm and I think a cool room works well with them. This will be my first quality led light besides the 65 v2. Not sure what to expect with the heat part of it.
