HLG 320 Rspec FR?

So right now i've been growing indoors for years in a 2x4 tent. I am using COB LED's (California Lightworks 200w) i have two of them in there for a total of 400w. I falling out of love with them because theyre super hot and to concentrated and I just don't feel like they're doing as well as they use to. They're pretty old now.

I was wondering if this HLG 320 RSPEC is a good upgrade although it only pulls 320w. Would this been a better upgrade for me? Anyone have experience with it? or have any suggestions for something better for my 2x4 tent? Kind of fell out of the loop with the latest tech and all that. I've been just chugging along but looking to dive back into it more serious again.

I love my 320 rspec. It also produces a fair amount of heat. Noticable more then most LEDs. I think mostly due to its spike in far IR end of the light spectrum. I run mine at about 60% in a 3x5, your probably want to do 40% in a 2x4. Not all watts are the same. Even at less then 20w/sqf it produces prettier buds then my other tent getting more power per squar foot. If your looking for better heat managment look at bar style lights instead of pannels and modles that are missing the spike in far IR.

You can use supplimental ir lights, i havent yet but most the comments on here say they only run them 15 minets every 2 hours with noticable benifits.

So maybe something like the
Kind LED X330?

I run 3 of the those boards in a 2X4 at 480W. I got 3 boards, the triple slate and a HLG 480h c2800b for around $300. Those boards do get fairly hot so I would advise to also using thermal compound to install them. I had to go back and add the compound when I hit the boards with IR thermometer.

Another way would be getting a little water movement over the sink. A small fan in the middle will bring down temps on the boards but still generate the same heat in the tent.

And yes OP it will provide all the light you need in a 4x2, figure out how to grow under 240 before pushing higher. It will need a lot of hanging height.

You could also diy 3 separate single boards with the same Rspec FR spectrum, put them across sideways, make a basic frame from alu angle, and spread them out a bit better for less of a hotspot in the middle.

This comment right here! Not all watts are the same is so true. I'm running dual HLG 260 kits in my 2x4 and the plants are mad mad at 50%. The intensity is insane with these QB's.

Definitely buy the light. You will be impressed.

So glad you mentioned this. I currently have mine built on a double slate. But I think two singles in a square formation would be better coverage. Will be updating my light design. Thanks for the tip!

I did add a 140mm fan to the top of mine later on.....figured why not. Cooler temps=extended life.

I have seen quite a few people build the double boards on a triple slate for the extra cooling and light dispersion.
