Hi Guys

Been smoking bud for about ten years now, recently grown some northern lights x big bud. Was smoking some with a friend yesterday, and noticed some hives appearing on my forehead. I was completely freaked out, took some pirotin and it started to settle off. Out of curiosity I rubbed some of the bud on my wrists, after about ten minutes it broke out in really itchy hives

I also have some sweeet motivation that a friend grew, rubbed that one and I got the same rash , but no where near as bad. I ate some of the nlxbd with no problems and seem to be ale to smoke it ok.

I have never noticed this rash before and have grown and harvested quite a few crops.. is it possible that I am allergic to cannabis?? or could it be just a skin allergy.. I love my bud! Anyone experianced this or have any ideas what i is?

cheers!

Adi

Sounds bad..if you are allergic you don't want to
push it and smoke that shit again..since you are inhaling this could close up your lungs or something..so be careful..I love to smoke but sometimes I get paranoid and start to panic cause I have problems breathing..good luck man

Did they change to a different brand of nutes? Is it chemical ferts?
Did they have pest problems they forced them to fumigate or spray
something on the plants? You may have just become sensitive to something
they are using on the plants.

I used the House and Garden Aqua A &B, multi enzyme, bud xl and top booster, so chemical ferts, but gave the plants one week on just water.. i Really hope i aint allergic after all this time!! someones suggested a vaporizer, just looking at those now

Sorry for the thread necromancy, I break out when I touch one of the strains I'm growing. I haven't smoked it yet, but it seems to bug my skin to the touch, but it's only one of my strains.

Sorry too, but you will be fine.
If smoking was going to kill you via suffication (closed/swollen throat, etc..) known as anaphylactic shock, you'd be dead already.
Your reaction is not THAT severe and won't be now.
When my arm brushes ANY dank that's been in bloom for a few weeks, I get little hives wherever I was touched.
Real tiny and nothing large or crazy.
We are allergic to the natural oils from the THC glands, which are doing there job and protecting the plant until it's done blooming and get's harvested, or dies.

Smoke on bro'..........................

I have the same problem. I can smoke it, but if it touches my skin I break out. And God forbid if I get it in my eyes. I just wear long sleeves and a gloves.

ah get some hydrocortizone cream and call it a day. maybe try some benadryll and see if that helps. if it's just skin exposure that bothers you it's very treatable. allergies can come and go throughout a lifetime and are usually brought on by heavy exposure (ahem). good luck.

funny, i have 2 strains that if i touch any of the leaves with my arm i'll start to break out in hives.. tiny itchy little bumps. oddly i can touch my current automatic with no problems. maybe strain dependent?

Hey, I started growing about a year ago and I started breaking out in the past two months. I grow for medical reasons and I really don't
want to stop. I just pop a benadryl and go on my way. My suggestions are to wear light, yet long clothing (long sleeves and long leg pants) as well as gloves. Soon you might notice asthma problems, but to prevent that, wear a doctor's mask. Hope this helps.
