I put this in the 600's,easier than writing shit twice.

Here are some pics of 5 out of 6 stalks just cause I thought they looked nice. Only 5 because the other is the sis of UB and looks the same. Anyone feel I should hack any of this lower growth off? These pics are 30" to 40" down. I know a 600 is good for 7x7,and I'm only in a 3x3.So I figure I'm good. But I waited a little to long to flower. I am 1 week into flower as of tomorrow and the tallest one is 40" already. Are these lower limbs going to start stealing to much from the upper growth? I have a minimum of 8 weeks left, feel like if I am going to do something it should be now.

And some of these lower growths are at 12" to 15" and very yellow at the top few inches. Seems like low N but the rest of the plant just doesn't seem to need it. Do I just get rid of the lower growth so the plant can dedicate itself to the places that will get way more light? And how much?

I, personally, do my pruning 2 weeks into flower, and then whatever else needs to be done (Fine pruning) during the 4th week of flower. Then from there on out just let em grow man. That's what I do anyways and it's working out pretty well for me! :)

Oh and I usually cut the bottom 1/3 of the plant off so that all that energy spent of little worthless buds is THEN spent fattening up the big buds up top! BUT I also grow with CFL's and don't have HID. So your gonna have to take what I said, and decide what you should do with your HID.

3x3 is a great size for a 600 watter. I would not recommend using just one 600 watt HPS for a 7x7 Area, unless it is "supplemental" lighting in a greenhouse. I run two 600's in my oversized 4x8, and I'm wanting to add two more. While the light may reach the edges, you are greatly depriving the plants on the outer edges. I believe cervantes referred to this as the "inverse square law". Not that he invented this theory, just something he had mentioned.

The ladies look thick, but get those dead leaves outta yer soil! Super tacky and just begging to attract some PM.

Havin some internet and shitty pic issues but here are a few. I believe I trimmed off the rest of what I am. I also tried somethin new. I cut the tips off of a couple lower branches, dipped them in water, sliced off a couple growths, and sliced up the middle of the bottom. Than I stuck em back in the dirt. Got the idea off MCPurp,if it doesn't work out fuck it,I was gonna clip it off anyway. I don't have pics of that till tomorrow night. My e mail won't let me get pics in. Pissin me off. Also this little girl was a bi product. I was goofin off and stuck a few trimmings in a glass of water. Than stuck 3 in the dirt with the strawberry, which has about had it with me by the way. This one, under the stupidest conditions ever,is still holdin on. To funny. I stuck some more in tonight. I'll see tomorrow how many of them survived day one. Here is the first stage of the true beginnings of bud porn.

CFLs are great at brightening up edges and corners!

here's a link; you can VERY easily set up a fixture for a 27 watt that'll supplement about 2 feet of edge or 1/2 of a corner

and it'll only cost you about $5 a light, including the bulb, cord, and socket.

it's a GREAT way to rid yourself of stretch, stem, and popcorn buds.

Also I somehow missed Geesh's post. Good to see you and Art Of Science here. Part of my problem is that someone told me to leave that shit in there as sort of a mulch. RZZA told me last week or so to get rid of it and I did. Again thanks all.

spider mites? mix one part rubbing alcohol to two parts water...add a few drops of dish soap. cover plant entirely. do this every other day as it kills mites but not eggs. you will slowly gain control. another option is to drown them by holding plants under warm water for a few minutes. you can also spray them with water to knock them off but i dont recommend this method. i have successfully beat spider mites in the past and im sure you can also. trust this method.

ALright man I've used the alcohol and water mixture when I had the dreaded mites. And it holds them off, or will for now, but I think that once you get some money, you should think about investing in a 'Hot Shots No Pest Strip' turn your ventalation off and hang it in your tent for 4 days and they'll be GONE (Only like $7)! And when I say gone, I mean GONE gone! It does say though to not use in a place that is occupied for more than 4 hours at a time. So what I did when I had them is I put it in there the whole time I was at work, so like 8-6, then when I got home I just put it in a ziplock bag to keep all the shit from spredding around the house while I'm there. I mean it does seem like a hastle, but it's WAY easier than spraying down your plants every single day for a week or whatever, AND that alcohol smells like SHIT when sprayed all in your house, it'll take a bit to go away. Just my $0.02 ayways. I've delt with spidermites once, and tried the alcohol/water thing, and it just slowed them down. I will ALWAYS use a Hot Shots NPS from now on for those bastards! You just have to be careful and smart about using them that's all.
