Highly purified Delta 9 THC

I am a patient and refine crude concentrate to obtain pure Delta 9 THC. This shot is moments out of vacuum and harvest. If left out of vacuum a red tint on the surface is evident within an hour. Delta 9 THC is highly susceptible to oxidation into CBN. This photo is shown at highest possible purity straight off the cold finger it is harvested from out of deep vacuum. I have been vaping on it for a week now and it remains premium so long as I store it in vacuum. The dab shown easily supplies my needs for a month or more. My tolerance is very high and this is a medical application for me. I need the pure med and have been sensitized to terpenes and such.

This started as dark brown crude concentrate testing nominally at 60% THC. It refines into near absolute purity shown below. The potency of the dab below is easy to underestimate. A tiny amount vaporized goes a very long way and the impact is deep and body wide. This can make me very, very high beyond pain and symptom management otherwise. Slow onset and a day changer but use caution in dosing. Too much is too much...

Question from a non-chemist: Does your process include some kind of cold finger extraction? I didn't know that's possible.

After dewaxing and other procedures the crude extract is run repeatedly through a cryogenic sublimator which evaporates the liquid. When ice water is added to the cold finger the gas molecules are frozen into a solid and are deposited onto the glass forming a layer. That layer is then harvested and the apparatus cleaned. Then the compound is run again. There is nearly zero hold up or loss from runs. Each run through the apparatus refines the impurities out on a logarithmic scale. From black tar it comes out nicely but still highly contaminated. I use the word contamination in this context for anything not Delta 9 THC which is the target compound here. After the fourth run you see the purity I posted in the original photo. It is about as potent as it can be made from a natural concentrate.

Pressure in the sublimator used is typically ¾ of one micron to 5 microns and temperature of heating mantle is 135C nominal as measured between the glass and heating mantle under the boiling puddle.

it's cool that you can do this, but i would think that for most people this would be a very intense experience. most people don't react well to that much pure D9, it causes paranoia and anxiety, rapid heart beat and severe dry mouth. i'm kind of curious what your medical issue is that you need this? i have some pretty severe stomach issues, and i suspect for my issues, the terpenes and cbd/cbn have some therapeutic value.

So I did an ice water extraction in this tub, about 3-4 cu ft worth of material.. Lots of real fine stuff, which I'm guessing was mostly stalks due to the age, treatment, and condition of the material... But a year later after looking through some stuff I find this at the bottom of the tub...







The outside parts were real sparkly but the camera does shit to show..





I took chunks from the middle and the side...




Under 50X ...





I've heard of and seen some white THC cyrstals, but is this just Calcium or some other mineral buildup from the tap water I was using?.. Anyone have anything similar??..

Purge your storage vessel with inert gas.. Nitrogen is cheap.. argon blankets better..
