I've been researching for a strain that has quality dankness and would pull off 10+ oz a plant. I know a lot of you are going to say that lights, grow-setup are all a factor. All of which i have covered and have no need to worry about. But a underlying factor is also the genetics of the strain you get. Someone shed some light onto me about what strain could do this. As for it would be greatly appreciated. for i've been doing this for a couple of weeks....
I'll echo what's already been said.
If you had the knowledge and experience to maximize yields off a plant, then you wouldn't have to ask this sort of question.
First get at least 3 grows under your belt, learn how to veg plants, top them, and train them, get some experience growing several different strains, and THEN you'll be in a position where you can try to maximize yields.
In terms of yielding 10 ounces from a plant, that could be either trivially easy, or impossible, depending mostly on the setup and how the plant is grown. Some, obviously, make it easier than others, but almost any strain "can" yield 10 ounces (or more) from one plant *IF* its grown right.
Even the question itself is a bit shaky. Typically what indoor growers try to do is maximize the yield from their SPACE, not from individual plants (IE six small plants that yield 2 oz each is better than one monster that yields 8 oz). In fact, what you really want to do is maximize yield per unit space per unit time (IE 8 ounces every 8 weeks is better than 10 ounces every 12 weeks).
If you're growing indoors, the only real reason to try and maximize yields from one plant is if you're butting against legal plant count limits.
In terms of the actual question, there a lot of high yielding strains out there. One I particularly like is Williams ("one hit") Wonder, which is an old-school "cash cropper" from the early 1990s, and fairly potent. You can read more about this strain in the report in my signature (below). As a frame of reference, this plant is roughly 2 feet tall, and was grown under only half of a 250W hps:
Assuming you grew it in a large pot, and were willing to veg it for two full months, top it multiple times, and train it sufficiently, I'm sure you could pull 10oz off one plant. The reality is, though, that if you can tolerate the numbers, you'll probably find it faster/easier to just grow out a number of smaller clone plants in a "sea of green" type setup to get the same yield a bit faster.
