That was done with NO gassing.
No light movers
Simple Bat wing
cheap mylar draped down the sides (This is a steel caged unit, that I built to do hydro dial-ins with. It has a res below and a simple pump on a timer. 6 ft tall with the tray held in a section with 4 ft of frame above the tray level. Everything lighting, was suspended from the top...
Temps and Rh was fairly lose.
No netting - Plants were 12-14 inch's

I don't get it. Are you seriously saying it's possible to get over 3 GPW with small SOG plants? Without Co2?

Please tell me more. How do you know this stuff? Where did it happen?

As I understand from your story, the key to high yield is high number count of plants. As much as 64 per light.

YES! In fact it's far easier to get high GPW values with smaller plants!

Sea Of Green = SOG. Plants that are run in high # counts, close together.....Some do bigger plants, most do small plants.

Most yield estimates are taken from the total yield of plants bloomed at 8 inch's tall (or smaller), filling in a square meter space.

Look at Dr. Greenthumbs seed site. He does it that way and lists it as such.

Then you have rotating gardens that will exemplify SOG perfectly.


Now imagine that, set out in a flat ebb system tray.

What you see above is a near perfect example of what I did with a 2X2 ebb tray. Same for the 64 plants in 6 inch diameter pots in the tent (I look back at that now and wonder why I didn't use square pots. To be honest.)

Strains used are a key ingredient to this success.

In the end. I find it far more productive from a quality standpoint. To grow large plants and go for potentials. Yield is nice but, quality equals higher value.

Your 1.5 - 1.7 per watt - Is respectable to say the least. Now add superior quality to that, and your winning the game!

I just started to flower 32 clones and my mothers. Adding another 60 clones as they reach 8-10” tall.
Was going to do 120 plants but needed veg space so scrogging my mother plants too.
4x8, 2x 600W HPS and 1x 315W CMH.
I need 12.5g/clone (50g/sq ft) to achieve 1G/W.
Ill let you guys know in a few months how i make out.

PS I was going to use square pots too but they were more than twice the cost of round.

How can you be so sure? What if they don't?

I'd very much want to know if you think my 1.6gpw is also an exaggeration, considering that I did some big mistakes.

Maybe it's time to wake up and look what's outside of the "common belief".

Mind and it's limits...

After all we are talking about a wonderful plant.

That old attitude needs a refresh.
