High vs stoned strains

Not sure if this right part of forum to seek help but I will give it a shot. I notice that most the strains now a days are very good at getting me “stoned”. But haven’t had any really get me “high” in a long time. I know it sounds dumb but only way I can describe the feeling. So I went down a rabbit hole and thought maybe I should be growing sativas dominate strains and that should help. So I almost bought a couple pack when I randomly stumbled on article and Reddit posts talking about no real difference between indica and sativa effects other then a slightly more Myrcene in indica.

I was just curious about anyone else experience. Just trying to learn? Trying to find that “high” again something that makes music sound different lol. Any help would be appreciated.
Just my opinion here but I feel like the cannabis craze has ruined and diluted alot of the variation in euphoric effects. Landrace strains is where I focus and always have some seeds in bank to cross with.
You can label whatever hybrid with any dumb ass name. Just look at what's being sold nowdays. The reality is their all pretty much alike. I have a legendary Afghani landrace known as Alien Technology. The high is just like you said, music sounds better with more depth, the beauty and complexity of nature is greatly enhanced, next level creativity and hyper focus of attention span, ect...

Don't grow weed for the glam and bullshit popularity. I think it's funny as fuck the retarded names they have for most of these strains on the market. Second, all because a plant is known to color up in flower, doesn't make it a more potent variety or even one that's tailored to a specific effect. But yet people buy the shit out of magenta, purple and black phenos. Maybe it accentuates the trichomes, or resin glands can also be tinted with color. At the end if the day, more often than not, it's all the same shit. Diluted down traits with a general euphoria effect.

There is also some debate regarding the current cannabis taxonomy used by many. Many suggest that that both sativa and indica are used incorrectly to describe which genome group what is called a sativa or indica falls into. Some suggest that sativa is actually in the indica/NLD genome group and indica is in the Afghan/BLD genome group and sativa/NLH would be hemp. The term Sativa was first used in 1753 when naming the Hemp plant.

"Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus, the “father of modern taxonomy,” first published the scientific name Cannabis sativa in his seminal Species Plantarum of 1753. The Latin name Cannabis derives from Greek (kannabis) and may have been originally derived from Scythian. The term sativa simply means “cultivated” and describes the common hemp plant that was widely grown across Europe in Linnaeus’ time."

AT was great if you got the real deal but let's not act like the names have anything to do with the high. Not sure how alien tech is any less "retarded" of a name btw

I agree completely. But I have a feeling the strain got its name based on the mind blowing cerebral effect. Hence, Alien Technology.
The retarded part comes from taking a shit load of strains and crossing them, just to come up with a clever name. Commonly both of the parents names are taking into consideration.
Ex: Banana kush x vanilla kush= ice cream shake or something fucking stupid along those lines.
If you truly have something special, then by all means... name it. But it better be fucking stabilized and not some half assed cross just to make F1's and put them on the market.

I agree, but the "high" is a comprisal of a bunch of cannabanoids and terpenes. Let's say your colorful grow wasn't what you normally could do. The terpens aren't at full potential nor cannabanoids. Terpenes that cannabis can produce are many. Doesn't have to be a colorful strain is my point. Color IMHO is solely eye candy, and for some growers it's somehow gives bragging rights or showboating.
Again, this is just my opinion as I don't do trendy shit.

Kinda like the race for 30% THC . For years I've been telling friends that THC content ain't the whole story . They're just now understanding when they smoke dispensary weed labeled "20 blah blah %" and asking "why doesn't this shit get me wrecked !" .

Not that high THC isn't a good thing , just that there's so much more to it . One thing I'll give some of these poly hybrids is that they taste great .

There are now so many multi super hybreed crossed and selfed and feminized strains that it does get confusing, especially after vaping my multi super hybreed crossed and selfed and feminized weed.

I had one pheno of ACE Golden Tiger which is a Thai+Malawi sativa cross. Paranoia and a racing heart. No desire to just sit back and relax. I smoked that stuff sparingly and it put a friend stuck in a chair on my patio for a few hours because they couldn't drive home. Asked me what it was and said he never wanted to smoke it again. I just laughed. He's about ten years younger than me and didn't start smoking until later in life so had never smoke a real sativa.

As for the race for 30% THC you can find extremely high THC in sativas. ACE has a warning in the description of their Malawi and it should be heeded.

"The potency of its flowers is simply devastating, and it is especially recommended for experienced users that seek extreme sativa effects without renounce to an abundant harvest."

"DO NOT mix it with alcohol and DO NOT use any dangerous machinery under its effect."

The Golden Tiger packs a punch though that's for sure.

I'm going to get the Malawi, Malawi x panama, golden tiger and maybe the killer a5 haze based on yours and a few other on here's discussions about them.

If those are as good as I've read then for sure don't see a reason to have much else.
