greetings
I am arranging an aeroponic trash can setup with twenty plants per can (s.o.g.)..i will need a high pressure 100 psi submersible pump to power the eight .25 orifice biocontrol nozzles (<50 microns). these nozzles have a flow rate of .08 ounces a second..they will be running 1 minute on/3 minutes off..the top four fogging nozzles will be about 40" high (from pump) with a second row of four misters about two and a half feet below that..any ideas?

I would use a higher pressure pump, like a 400GPH, and EZ clone sprayers, 11/16th drill bit for the sprayers into some 1/2" PVC pipe

1 min on 5 min off or around there is perfect

Active Aqua 400 or Ecoplus 396 are great pumps for around 10 sprayers...they are also about 25 bucks at most hydro shops.

You need a diaphragm pump. Running the nozzles a full minute will deliver upwards of 0.3 gal (1.135L) to the roots.. a couple of seconds (38ml) would be plenty with 100psi.
The Ecoplus 396 isn`t quite strong enough for those nozzles, it`ll only manage about 3psi ;)

how do you figure out the psi on a pump? s there a formula?? dual diaphram to keep pressure up @ release?

Most pond pump specs will give you the maximum head in feet, convert it to inches and divide by 27 to get psi (27" head = 1psi) You`ll really struggle to find a pond pump with 225ft of head :)
If you run 8 nozzles directly from the pump, it will need a flowrate of at least 0.3gpm @ 100psi.
