EB's available in CRI90! I immediately fall in love with them!

Hopefully CRI90 is available from the beginning and digikey sell them to the same price and more spectrums than 3500 and 5000°k.

Almost 200lm/w nominal for CRI80.. If thats true for 2700/3000°k too that's awesome.
That's ~2,8μMol/J (PPF/w) nominal and +3,0 driven at half current. And CRI90 efficiency is maybe only 0,1μMol/j or so lower. Vesta strips in CRI90 have actually a CRI95(5k side) and 93 spectrum (other side) and have a conversion factor of 55,6 tested with a geniospectrometer and I expect that's almost the same CRI90 spectrum one EBgen3.
Seems I've found the strips I'll use for my vertical sidelights.

Is a release date known, bro?

I haven't seen the sphere test (did @CobKits do one?), just numbers that appear to be based on "estimated" QER. Any links?
i dont have a calibrated sphere

any light lab thats doing it for money list how they calibrate their equipment (basically you get a light source that has been calibrated to one at NIST (or whatever the AU equivalent is). I dont see this in tekniks report, not saying his equipment isnt calibrated, just that hes not including it in his reports (in what we see here) and it would be useful

look at the reports on chillled's site for an example of what im talking about
PAR numbers measured with a spectrometer and a 380-780nm wide measuring range would say even more cuz most PAR meters stop reading above 700nm.
some labs report par range differently as well (again take a look at a multitude of official test reports)

Yeah, they are top notch, no question!
Would be nice to see a direct PAR or spectrometer comparision with 1 QB and 1 HL board, both at the same wattage and distance to the sensor and above a 2x 2' area or inside a 2x 2' tent. I'm sure the average PPFD numbers at let's say 100w would be pretty close. And when we set the drive current so that the diodes on both boards run with the exact same current we would compare Samsung against Nichia. Not really a fair comparision because the Optisolis it not Nichia's brightest diode and use a purple photon pump but nevertheless interesting to see.

Kind of begs the expression for some, "Ahem...well, he's not exactly the brightest LED on the board...if you know what I mean!":roll:

LOL, no, there are only a few of them to fine tune the HighLight spectrum! They are less efficient lumen wise but μMol/j numbers are pretty close.

I plotted a lot of SPD charts before settling on the different types of LEDs, and the Optisolis have quite a high QER.

For example, using data sheet averages, the 3000K Optisolis have a QER of 4.96 with an average efficiency of 50% for 2.47 umol/j (coincidentally, the overall figure for these boards).

The 3000K V3F1 (CRI90) have a QER of 4.90 and an efficiency of 54.5% for 2.67 umol/j.

The 2700K V3F1 (CRI90) used in the High Lights have a higher QER of 4.96, but a slightly lower efficiency of 54.24%, however put out 2.7 umol/j - a slight improvement on the 3000K specs. This is mainly because we managed to get the highest flux bin available for the 2700K - usually, you would expect them to perform a little under the 3000K.

The old Sunlike were around the 2.2 umol/j mark, but Seoul Semiconductor improved the specs prior to sending out the LEDs we used in the production boards, so I'm guessing they now have similar efficiency to the Optisolis.

The difference in all those figures and the final 2.47 umol/j at the board takes into account the voltage losses through the board resistance (connectors, circuitry etc).

So the Optisolis are actually not too bad. The SPDs are measured from 380-780nm.

Good arvo in Mt Cooks hay shed today, panels wired up to the Vesuvius sinks. T5s will get fitted next weekend and hopefully they go in the following weekend. Drivers all fitted with potentiometers and ready for remote mounting
