High humidity problem

My tent only has 4 seedling in there at the minute (they’re around 4 days old) and the humidity likes to creep up to 80 - 85% without my carbon filter on (I’ve recently learned that keeping my carbon filter on when the humidity is high can break it / Stunt the way it works until the carbon is dry) my tent is 60cm X 60cm X 140cm. I don’t have any money to buy a de humidifier and was wondering if there are any ways to lower the humidity. (This is my first grow)

thanks

You should not need a carbon filter on with 4 day old seedlings and high humidity is good for them I’m new to this my self but myn are in 3rd week and I still haven’t got a carbon filter just an out line fan

I’ve solved the problem now, the problem was that everytime I’d open my tent there would always be condensation all over it, the humidity was completely soaking the new leafs on the plant (could’ve killed them) I’ve got the back vent open now and it’s keeping it around the 50 - 60% mark

Buy silica cat litter.
Helps absorb the humidity, as a stop gap till you buy a large room dehumidifier. Better to be safer in long run. As you don't want to buy another one when you find out just not powerful enough to suck entire humidity out.

I don’t even know what dehumidifier to get, getting one of the big expensive ones seems really overkill when my tent is only 60cm x 60cm x 140cm. Humidity stays around 50 - 65% now

Try the cat litter. That will help for your size.

Then later once you know your setup better. Can judge what size you need. More plants etc more heat etc all effect the humidity.

Just use cheap cat litter to start with. Rock salt etc. Silica has the highest absorption rate

Rock salt method..

Take two plastic tubs of the same size. Put an object inside the first tub to elevate the second tub. Drill holes in the second tub and fill it with rock salt. Place the second tub and put it in the first tub. In a few days there will be some water in the bottom tub. Check the bottom tub daily to empty the water.

I’ll give this a go! Thanks

you need a little extraction fan, 100mm, just 8-10 watts. cheap as, you need something like this https://www.easygrow.co.nz/fans/189-120mm-fan-.html or this https://www.easygrow.co.nz/fans/1195-100mm-inline-fan-white-plastic.html

you cant have plants in a small tent with artificial light with no airflow no matter how small they are.

When using your little extraction fan, open the botton vents if you have a tent or if in a hard cabinet drill some holes around the bottom to let air in as air goes out.

any photos, people might be able to learn from your grow, im definetly interested in a 60cm X 60cm X 140cm tent that can stink a room out and needs a carbon filter.
I’ll grab some pictures when the lights come back on the girls are sleeping at the moment , I’ve got 4 autoflowers in there in 3 gal pots, all low stress trained and defoliated when needed (only taking 2 - 4 leaves a week or so, growth hasn’t ever been stunted when I’ve done it this way) plus it’s my first grow
