High hopes dashed!

Even though I smoked my share of bud in the past, I am brand new to growing. I recently moved back to AZ and to my shit eating grin, found that Prop 203 had passed. I've been wanting to grow for some time now but did'nt really know how. I have been lurking around this site and have learned quite a bit from all the contributors. Reps+ to all of you.
I took the plunge by ordering some Easy Ryder/ Lowryder II Feminized seeds from Attitude seed bank. I got 4 bonus seeds included.
Dutch Passion Skunk 11 feminized, Pyramid Seeds Osiris feminized, Pyramid Seeds Anethesia feminized and Pyramid Seeds Tutankamon feminized. Very happy. The seed arrived in about a week.
I thought that I would grow something easy for my first time. I thought that the Easy Ryder seeds would grow and be ready to harvest around the same time that the FREEBIES were ready to start flowering. I would have bud to smoke while I waited for the other seeds to finish. Visions of mass quantities of budage ran through my mind. I figured I would go low tech with hempy buckets and start my seeds in peat pucks. What could go wrong?

1/ 22 Germination. How hard could it be? I've seen all the youtube videos, read alot of threads, no problem. I used the paper towel method. Feeling good!

1/23 (3) Easy Ryder and (1) DP Skunk seeds cracked. About 4 hours later I checked again and the taproots were about more than 1/4 inch long. I Got my Peat pucks ready and planted the seeds about 1/4 of an inch down. placed seed in a humidity dome and seed starting heating pad. Happy as hell. Strutin around, Yeh!

1/24 Tut, Osiris, Anethesia cracked and ready to plant. DP Skunk is already busting throug the soil. What a monster this is going to be. Things are going great.

1/25 DP Skunk looking good. About 3/4 inch tall and healthy. Removed DP Skunk from the humidity dome and placed under 4 bulb T5 light. Only have 2 on. Started 18/6 photoperiod. Sprayed other seeds with distilled water untill damp. Come on now!

1/26 Dp Skunk 11 is about 1 inch tall. Looking good and healthy. Other seeds are starting to scare me. No sign of life yet. Yikes!

1/27 Dp Skunk looking good. Other seeds still haven't busted through soil yet. I am wondering if I did anything wrong. Are they dead? Whaaaaaaaaaaa!

I have HUGE respect for all the growers out there that have completed a grow. Nothing beats experience. You guys/gals make it look easy. Right now I am proud as a brand new papa when I see my little girl. Hopefully she will do just fine. As for the others I have no clue. I thought that the seed would bust through like the DP Skunk. I have been humbled by this experience so far.

I'm a AZ grower too well on my second grow.. i got my seeds from attitude and they sent me those same freebies too except for the osiris seed was smashed when i opened up the box... well all my other ones are looking good so far, i will follow your grow to see how yours are doing. .well good luck on the grow.

The Osiris just broke through but is a little yellow. (Over watered)? I guess I am a little impatient. I probally check on them every couple of hours. Thanks for all the encouragement.

Distilled water is not ideal for growing with.

Of all the things to fix it'd be that. Begin using Reverse Osmosis filtered water.

I am not a big fan of the peat pucks. I find they can be too acidic and root systems will sometimes stall out as they hit the soggy bottom of them. Personally I find coco to be much better at germinating seed than anything else. A little coco coir, a 4" coco fiber planter, and you just plant it and keep it wet.

There's a lot of ways to grow. Hope this works out for you.

I took more pictures this morning. Osiris broke through yesterday. I noticed that Tut also broke through this morning. My high hopes are back!

Hi there yall! Im about an hour or so north of ya in Prescott. Looks good so far. Exciting when they POP ain't it?

I also do not like the Peat Pucks at all. I love the Rapid Rooters. You can order them on Ebay. They work great. I am also like Snow Crash, I use Coco Coir as my grow medium. It is by fare the easiest medium out there for me. I used to use an R/O filter, But i got tired of paying $150 to replace the filters twice a year, plus all that wasted water that goes down the drain. I do just fine using tap water that I let sit for a day.

You gonna do any topping or LAST to these ladies?
