I'm a patient at WMMC, and they seem to be the only producer who sells CBG oil in canada. Have any of you seen it at a dispensary? Anywhere? I just wonder how well it work on pain, seems a lot of info is on digestive illness. I don't think I'm gonna find any people who have taken it so I will try it myself.
Well lets think of the trichome like a little factory making THC. CBGA is the first cannabinoid synthesized by the joining of isoprene units with olevtolic acid by CBGA synthase. Then it is given to THCA or CBDA synthase to make into THCA or CBDA which is secreted into the trichome body by secretory cells. Just like cars going down the manufacturing line and being put onto the lot once finished. CBGA is like the completed car without the engine put in. One step to completion. if you went and stopped the factory before it was done making all the cars, you wouldn't have the lot half filled with cars without their engine, there would be a few in the factory but they wouldn't be collecting. Unless lets say the machine to attach the engine broke, then you had to fill up the lot with cars with broken engines. Or lets say someone operating the plant thought cars didn't need engines and just decided to transport them to the lot without the engine.
Similarly, the plants aren't synthesizing all the CBG they need then turning it all into THC, CBG is just a step on the biosynthetic pathway (assembly line). if you stop a plant early it might have 2% CBG and 18% THC instead of 0.5% CBG and 20% THC. But it is still not close to 1:1. Plants that accumulate CBG at maturity (hemp or marijuana) would need to have either defective THCA/CBDA enzymes or some error in the secretory cells where CBG is secreted into the trichome instead of THC.
I don't think you would get anywhere near a 1:1 ratio of THC:CBG unless you stopped your plants super early and then the yeild would be shit. lets take an analogy of a car factory (cells that make THCA/CBDA) and the car lot (trichome head).so as it turns out...CBG is a stem cell of sorts and can be either THCA or CBDA
There fore ANY KILLER HERB should have loads of it if you harvest early....
As was said. Definitely NO LP hemp needed! Yer better off with anything else really.
