i still say T5's are the best choince for a small area or better yet a large are sog or scrog.. Especially for a sog/scrog..But also, I dont grow to sell, only to smoke so maybe thats why I feel that way. I have had a 400w and 600w hid.. The main reason I am using T5's now is because the 600w digi light i had from HTG caused widespread interenet outages in my area ( over 100 homes were affected JUST BECAUSE OF MY 600W HID IN MY HOME!!! ) and they came out to my home and told me that "something in your house is causing RF INTERFERRENCE and causing all the internet/cable modems to malfunction for miles around".. The guy said he didnt want to come in and check because it was after midnight and for me to call and make an appointment.. Needless to say I freaked out and I dismantled my BOX, threw away my plants,nutes,soil,fans etc etc.. EVERYTHING that had anything to do w/ growing.. SO, maybe, just maybe, my opinion is slightly biased lol. I didnt throw away the light however and called HTG and traded it in on this light which i have been using for over a week and its doing great so far > http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=50126
I have 6 veg and 6 bloom ( plus 6 extra veg bulbs because they sent 12 veg bulbs instead of 6 veg and 6 bloom when they shipped it out ) and I am going to use this T5 for the entire grow.. I am growing Blueryders and will prolly do LST or maybe sog/scrog as to keep an even canopy to get the best results with the T5.. But even w/out LST I have seen great results from T5's..

That looks as good if not better than alot of HID grows ive seen.. Plus I dont have to rebuy a ton of fans/ducts/cooltubes etc.. And I can finally shut my closet door lol..
I guess if your growing weed to sell, then you want the best quality and most dense and heaviest ( obviously ) buds possible.. But for someone like me, that ONLY grows to have personal MJ to smoke just for myself, I really do think T5's are trhe way to go.. As I said, I believe they are the IDEAL choice for a SOG/SCROG because of the HUGE footprint they emit.. You will not get that type of coverage using even a 1000W HPS.. Sure maybe you will get more penetration, But that can be easily remedied w/ LST/SOG/SCROG.
