HID scorched my plants -will they recover?

So we're new to HID Lamps and this is our 1-st run using a 400 watt system. Tonight I noticed that the tops of 2 of my colas were burned by the powerful light. Will this retard the growth of these buds? Here's a pic:

They are only 2 weeks in, so I'm hoping they will recover throughout the rest of the flowering period.

that bud is toast but nothing to worry about brotha, I would snipe it off and let the energy the plant stores to push it into the other buds instead of trying to repair itself over its damaged area (burnt flower).

That was the current pic- they seem to be doing fine now. They appear closer in the pic, but are actually in that "sweet-zone" just close enough, yet without burning them. They have been in that proximity for 3 days, and no burning, so I think it's going to work this time.

Growing hydro you tend to see this a lot, they get so damn big (obviously depending on strain) that they hardly fit in a 6.5ft^3 room and they grow right up into and sometime past the bulb. I wouldn't start cutting the burnt buds off yet, they may yet recover. I'm quite sure they will in fact, but they might not be too pretty looking, sometimes when you burn or otherwise destroy the tops, they start to grow out sideways a bit. The bleached leaves will not recover, but I would just leave em alone as the healthy sections will continue on photosynthesis.

DAMN that light's close! I run the same style w/ 400w, and anything within 12 inches- any direction- of the lamp will get cooked! Or, this has been my experience.
I have a string attached to the bottom of my lamp holder bracket, I've marked at 13 inches. I use that to measure the distance to my plants, anything inside that radius is in danger of getting burnt.
Get an inexpensive light meter, also. It will show you some very interesting things about your light spread! Well worth the money!!!!
