I found a warehouse that is selling some HID lighting fixtures for a good price, will these work okay for growing? The Ballast is on top of the fixture is it possible to remove it and rewire it or is it fine on top? And I'm growing in a 2x3x7 closet will it be safe in there? The light I believe is a 400w.

Hell ya hit those UP!!! I got like 10 400watt Metal halide ballast's and bulb's for free once. Probably a good idea to change the bulb but other then that there great. and they usually have the wiring to hook up 110/220 and up

And as long as your not a complete dummy you should be able to dis assemble the ballast and re assemble the part's where needed. Just use your head.
