HID Hut Digital Ballast doesnt work 250w HPS

I just got my order from HID Hut. It is a 250W HPS with digitall ballast. I plugged it in and nothing. I used a cheap little test light and stuck it in where the bulb would be and it turned on so it's getting at least some power. I then went to home depot to buy another 250w HPS bulb and it didnt work either.

Help please!!

not to sound like i am asking a dumb question but have you definately screwed the bulb as far as it will go into the socket? they can fool you some times. plus i would make 100% sure that the outlet has power too

Yeah, I screwed it all the way in. the outlet works fine, there is some power getting to the fixture because a little test light I used turns on.

i kno that hps's need time to turn on like street lamps turn it on and give it time see what happens good luck

Contact the seller & try to get a replacement, be sure to save the receipt.

Ive had it plugged in for an hour. I know that theres some power to the actual fixture where the bulb screws in but mybe its too weak???

This is like waking up Christmas morning only to find out theres no presents under the tree!!!

wow umm i dont kno try callin the place were u got it or if u kno n e thing bout wiring ballasts try checkin out the wires maybe the ground/earth wire is loose or sumthin good luck dude

they're replacing it, it was the ballast

Yea so how is the 250 watt light working?? I am considering getting a 250w hps setup from hidhut and just wanted someone's opinion.. Also what reflector did you get and are their any heat problems??
