HID aint got shit on CFL

so there are 7 White Widow ladies from clone.
i have them under shit ton of CFL's in a homemade fixture.
i started flushing today.

plan to harvest on Saturday.

how many cfls and what watt? im trying to decide whether to stay all fluorescent or to get hps. how many plants are there? are they all 2700k?

like 15 in all. ranging from 300w to 40w.

how much did u pay for the higher wattage cfls? i have 9 26watt cfls and i can use up to 75 watts but they start getting pricey after 26watt

dud your prob running more than 400watt power all together if you stuck a 400watt hps in there your buds would be twice the size and you would use less power.

o and you have a nute def thats why your leafs are wierd colour. you should fix it enless your chopping soon. i love how ww doesnt realy mind about nute defs tho ay its awesome

ALL Fluorescents will beat HID *UNTIL* you start going over 100 actual watts of power, then an HID slowly starts putting off more light, until it hits about 600 watts, and by then it's nearly double what a load of CFLs in actual wattage combined would do.

A 1000w HID would STOMP 1000w of CFL, but T5HO might be close and keep up with the HID. If they made a true 1000w actual CFL, I'd like to see it head to head against a 1000w HPS. then people could discuss this more with a more educated standpoint. Even a photographer would go for two or three solid powerful light sources than a bunch of scattered tiny ones, it just makes more sense in efficiency.

have you ever ran a HID. 600 watts or more?

your plants are crispy. burnt from the lights being to close it appears.

hell yea! i LOVE CFL!!! i have 3 68 watt 300 watt equiv., 5 42 watt 150 Watt Equiv., 8 26 100 Watt Equiv., totalling over 650 CFL watts! and 50,000+ Lumen! they are the shit.

sighmonyer. if you replace all that with 1 600watt hps you get like 95000 lumens (i think) so save 50watt and gaing 45000 lumens. that amount of cfls prob costs more than a hps aswell

^ I'm high so i forgot to mention that's just my 2700k flowering bulbs, not even close to both my 5000-6500k bulbs and the 2700ks put together.

yea i know, thats why i'm going to buy the $72 400 watt mh/hps e-conolight for my next grow in april, of course i will use CFLs as a supplement for side lighting. I'm just using CFLs to show they can grow awesome weed.

yer cfl can grow good weed... for some strains. my first grow was maroc x afghan(never buy it) with like 200watt cfls the right colour and everything the bud i got off it was pufetic not even a 25 bag worth.
