yea got several of em and could not figure it out either, i put a pad lock on one side of the light frame to give it some weight the other end with the electric cord already has weight, so the padlock evens things out and it works fine. tightening the wing nut is futile so dont waste you time with that.

yea man, its oretty rediculose HAHAHA
it dosnt even have real instructions... just on how to mount it. and they suck!
I cant believe I spend 25 bucks on these things... I could have used string :P
this is so far the only bad thing I bought rom HTG, everything else is great...

theres probably a secret way that we dont know about :(

dont know what that guy is talking about im like you i can only lower one side(the side with the cord) the other side would just go back up, because no weight on that side of light. you are right there lights are nice tho.

just add weight to the side that springs back up... should work perfect after that, mine did!

yea thats what I did, added a 2 pound weight :) works very nicly
its just odd that HTG makes the lights and hangers, and make it so you have to add weight to the reflector...

Yeah, that doesn't make sense.I have my eye on a set on ebay that is like 10 bucks a set. I'm curious if they will be pieces of crap or not....anybody used those?

I wouldnt mind checking them out. HTG charged 10 bucks for the one I bought with the light, but 14 for a second :/

Wow...I just looked at some of the other items for sale and it looks like HTG has a solid competitor...great deals but not huge selection

How did you hook them up to the ceiling?

I used a pair of plastic anchor and I hope the reflector wont fall. Do you think the ceiling hooks that came with the hanger and a pair of plastic anchors will be able to hold the reflector in place and not let it fall?

the 13 dollar ones from htg really work well, now they work withoujt any added weight, but I still have a weight on one, I put big holes where I was putting the screws filled it with epoxy putty and screwed the screw in, has been holding for 6 months, I did it before jjust screwing into the ceiling that made out of weird shit and the both fell after about 2 or 3 months

I wound up getting some sun leaves ones and I had to add weight for my t5 side lights...then one messed up and wouldn't work, but all was well, it was easy to return.
