A little more info would help us help you...

What manufacturer/model light and ballast did you buy? Did you get ANY directions with it at all?

For your own safety... Have you ever done anything like this before?

I'm kinda at a loss here without a little more info. Typically these should come with instructions on wiring and assembly. My suggestion is to contact the salesman you spoke to, and ask him if he can send you any literature on the unit.

Also, if you're not familiar with electrical work, PLEASE!! See if you can have a friend help out that has at least a little experience. Electrical work, especially these ballasts and lights, needs to be done by someone with a clue. I dont mean any disrespect. I just don't like hearing that someone was too ignorant or impatient to ask for help.

Good luck. If you can get us some more info, specifically a model number, then we might be able to find something to help you out.

Im not sure what the model number mfe 30-250 is for. From what I can tell, you have electrical diagrams on or around each of the pages listed above.

Perhaps you could call your local electrician, explain to him what you're trying to accomplish with the plants and all, and tell him that you'll give him part of your harvest if he helps you wire it up!! :-)

In all seriousness, at this point, you seem to be a little out of your league. My suggestion is that if you look at the electrical diagrams and dont know what anything means, then you probably shouldn't be playing with electricity.

In the long run, its going to be alot better for everyone if you save up a few pennies and pay for someone to do this right. Its alot better than the thought of hurting yourself or burning down someone's home.

Good luck, and be safe!!

i'm no electrical expert or anything, but i'm pretty sure you want that capacitor in there to keep your bulb from blowing due to power fluctuations.
