Just joined the forum! My fellow Noobie Bros and I have done a few hydro grows. So far, the yield has gotten better with each grow, but is not as good as we would like. The plants were tall and reedy with budding only from the top branches. We had them in 4" rockwool cubes in a tray system.
So we are trying a soil grow this time hoping to increase the yield at the expense of the longer growing time. We have them in 1.5 gal containers and were using a mix of pro-tekt, hormex and Flora Nova for the nutes. This is indoor using a 1000w lamp. They are currently in 18/6 timing.
I'm sorry if these might include some repeat questions but...
1-Does the size of the planter affect how big the plants can get? The tallest we have is 45" and it seems to have leveled off in vertical growth.
2-The soil vs hydro plants seem to have more foilage, but while the new growth seems healthy, the older growth seems to wither away. What's going on?
3-What is the general time frame with soil as opposed to hydro?
Thanks in advance. I'm sure we will have more questions later, as we are after all, The Noobie Brothers.
