Hi my fellow weeders; I have been growing a plant given to my by my father for quite a few months now. & as of recently I got a scare that it would start snowing so I wanted to transfer the plant indoors. Now after doing so the leaves had become dark purple & falling off. The stem is also becoming like a light tan type sandy brown. I am afraid that I have severed some of her roots. & now she’s dying. Is there anyway I can revive her. She had literally just started to flower & was beautiful. Now she’s like a hacked at Christmas tree with bud. Please help

I just wanted to add that I am not a grower! This is my first time ever keeping up with a plane. As it was a gift from my fathers friend. It had grown so so large out in my back yard. Until I feel I’ve recently destroyed that. I hope it can be saved. If not; would there be anything I could do with such small bud.

Did you dig out the plant from the garden? If so and you did manage to destroy some roots(which is inevitable unless you set up an archaeological dig) its pretty much tickets, if it does survive it's usually badly stunted and some branches will probably die. Next time just leave it, throw a plastic sheet over it at night or even a blanket will work lol. You can always make edibles but I'm not too familiar with that subject. Peace out and good luck!

Hi! Yes I dug it out from the back garden. I realized after checking that I damaged some really thick roots from the plant. I should have dug deeper. But I panicked & it was soppy outside with mud. I truly do hope it can survive. I had a feeling that even if I had left her out back during these times; she would have flourished. I’m so foolish.
