Cant comment on these but I can say I just went to HTG yesterday and bought one of their 400w HPS for $119.00 and the people there were great to work with and the product looks like a nice quality piece of equipment.

That DIY kit is just a rebuild kit for a hps ballast. you can do this but you are going to have to find a way to mount everything solid, and needs to be mounted to a non flammable material ie metal. all wire nut connections must be taped and fixed so they can't touch the ballast. I guess what I,m saying is the same as dopeyG unless you really know what you're doing you shouldn't try it.

I know what I'm doing when it comes to electricity...so there is no problem there ;)

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with their rebuild kits, or maybe some other kit from some other seller...I'd like to find a 600watt kit...

i completely forgot you could buy them in a kit like that. I got a 1000 watt hps magnetic kit with a hortilix eye sunlux bulb for $176.00 out the door at a local lighting store. Ran it for almost a year and would buy one again if I was low on $.

I ended up buying a refurbished 400watt remote ballast+hood+bulb for $89.99...it was cheaper to go that route then it was to assemble my own ballast + hood and buy bulbs :D
